The Official PS4 Thread: Greatness Awaits

well that's pretty shi**y that it wobbles like that, but i guess i'll just get some rubber feet to put on each corner.

Scratching discs from wobbling consoles?? I think that's probably taking it a little to far. Last time I checked people have laptops that wobble in their laps way more than that and it doesn't scratch the disc.

Now is it a stupid oversight that is wobbles? Hell yes! Is it a big deal? No..

There are really only 2 issues that concern me right now. The HDMI fails and I saw something about the rubber on the thumb sticks separating, but I haven't seen further confirmation of the latter. I'm sure there is plenty of bs out there by people with different agendas.

Its not nit picky or minor if the disc spinning causes the console to wobble, that can and will scratch discs which is a very legitimate concern
You actually think the disc will spin fast enough to lift the heavy side of the PS4 off the surface? It's not balancing on the center foot ...

You're really reaching now days man.

Derpiest post of 2013.

This is so retarded it almost deserves it's own thread / award. I remember when [H] was full of intelligent people.

The wobble is rather absurd Tbh, surely they saw that lol, but the larger concerns will come tomorrow if there really is a large problem with the HDMI out ports. Right now I'm not worrying about it.

wewt amazon shipment confirmation. My Amazon Need for speed isnt getting delivered till Tuesday tho. :(

still got KZ and Fifa to play at least.

All set for the midnight launch. Received my B2G1 Games (Battlefield 4, Killzone, & Injustice on hold until 15th) & 1TB HDD from Amazon today. :D

Lol, seriously man?

Like no really, are you being serious? I can't tell.

Are you high?

;)

Anyone know what the release stock levels are like? I'm hoping to walk in and buy one...

Indeed they do. Those people dropping $600 on eBay didn't make a wise decision.

Last night I saw some ending around 750 bucks lol

My nephew and fiance is in line at local bestbuy right now getting one for them to keep and 2nd one to sell.

Just picked up my PS4 from GameStop and there were about 50 ppl lined up outside. Manger said he had 10 extras left but they sold in less than 20 mins

I came back from my Midnight Launch at Best Buy. It was handled really well, two separate lines. The preorder people were able to go inside early and pay up and get out of the store quickly.Kinda felt sorry for the walk-ins having to stand out the whole time. It was like the preorder people were upper-class citizens! I was expecting a bigger line for walk-ins, but it was still decently long.

The setup is a bit ghetto at the moment and quite plain, and need to finish getting one last platinum for Ar Tonelico 3.

Enjoy your systems people.

my games got to the local facility at midnight and my ps4 got there about 20 minutes ago!

now off to work till 4!

I don't believe resale will be very high on either of these consoles. Gone are the days of crazy proprietary hardware and consoles selling for $1500 the next day. I think the most you'll see is maybe a 100 to 200 dollar profit after fees etc. Just my opinion.

I'm seeing hundreds of them going for sale between $550-600 and only a few selling at that price. I'm expecting people will get around $500-$550 for now and maybe over $600 once its closer to Xmas if stock isn't replenished by then.

Until then I will be thoroughly enjoying my system, picked her up at the midnight launch! :D

I don't even think you'll get that. There are several consoles with a BIN of $550 + s/h on Ebay right now.

On a $550 sale, fees come out to right about $75, assuming the most basic ebay listing and paypal as payment. So, at best, even if you got a console without tax or shipping, they are getting $75 for their effort. Once you start talking tax, shipping charges, or more premium listings to make yours more competitive, your looking at more like a $25-$50 profit.

So really, they are making someone else overpay $150, so that they can make $50. Which makes them a shit head. For everyone else trying to get $800-$1000 or more, I hope every single one of their listings fail to sell because of this.

The only people that I think stand a chance at making any sort of decent profit is craigslisters. You'll get people willing to pay more to have it right now, no fees, and less competition since its local only. How much will depend on where you are. On my local CL (small town), there are only four units on there, ranging for $800-$1200. But I checked out Chicago CL and there are units listed for $550-$600. Consider that anyone with one on hand now was a local sale, that means your looking at nearly $450 out the door with tax, so even CL in a populated area is bottoming out at only a $100 markup a mere 9 hours after launch. And I predict it will continue to go down once all the people that listed for $1,000 and then went to sleep wake up and see their listings are being severely undercut.

Seeing all this makes me incredibly happy. Most of the scalpers out there will either make very little, or just end up keeping their system or returning it because the money to be made isn't worth the effort.

Indeed, Craigslist is the way to go. All sold out in my area, and people are entirely too dumb to check online, or so it seems.

That would be good enough for me but I'm astounded to see someone mention they already saw $750 clear even last night.

Amazing.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if we don't go through the usual "shortages" fiasco we've had for the last few console releases between now and at least year's end.

Can't believe eBay fees are that high these days...but then again I can. I was able to nab a Wii shortly after it was released and sold it for $100 profit on CL. Didn't feel like doing the same for either of these really.

Ebay totally sucks balls now. Fees are very high and then they slap you with Paypal fees. Then they cap shipping so you get screwed at the post office because something costs more to ship than ebay allows. Just sucks, sucks, sucks.
