This is your Retina Macbook Pro doing nothing. This is your Retina Macbook Pro melting your balls off.

Seems to be running cooler than the MacBook Pro that got hot enough to boil water.
Slow news day = Apple bashing
Slow news day = Apple bashing
Wondered how long it would take for one of you to crawl out of the woodwork...
I'm assuming that the pictures on the Japanese Apple site are just stock US photos now - The Japanese wireless keyboard has a very similar layout to that of the MBP pictured.Looking at the Japanese Apple site, it doesn't look like the MacBook Pro Retina has a different keyboard layout than the US model.
I'm a PC guy. But the apple bashing on this site is becoming stupid and babyish. My dell latitude d620 runs super hot.
I'm coming to this site less and less
The kernel_task process tells the CPU to shut up, sit down, and do nothing until it's cooled off. Don't know if this happened in previous MBPs or not, but it's lovely to see your encoding framerate go from 40 FPS to 3 out of the blue because your CPU is "overheating" at 60*C. I love many things about the new MBP Retina, but the thermal restrictions are not one of them. Make it .25" larger and let the CPU breathe so I can actually use the damned thing!
Prior to reading your post I have to inclination to do such a thing ... after reading it ... I have to admit ... I am curious.Unless you scoop your balls and put them on top of the keyboard, this is not an issue at all. Keep the Apple Hate incoming

I guess actually reading the article is too much to ask for.

Noting to do with the article.
Why is it news? Show me a fucking laptop that does not get toasty. I have 6 in this house, all different brands and ages, and they all get just as hot as the MacBook.
I think the point IronCross is making is that the article isn't at all bashing the thermals and he was encouraging you to read it so you'd understand that it might not be prudent to go on the defensive over something that doesn't require such a response.

insta-interpreted as something only a diehard Apple brown-nose would say, thus the predictable barrage of "LOL LOOK AT THE BUTTHURT FANBOI GO QQ MOAR!!! crAPPLE!crAPPLE!crAPPLE!crAPPLE!" replies.Slow news day = Apple bashing
I will say it again. My comment was NOTING to do with the article that was linked to...

..it was the fact that it was posted on the front page of this website, as nothing more than page bait.

Yeah, you should go to BetaNews, they started living off bashing Apple stuff. It's all about the page views.
Huh? Steve posts something positive about apple, then you put words in his mouth? Is this something you do in every argument?
Why would you even mention a "laptop that does not get toasty" if you weren't talking about an article that is about the thermal measurements of a laptop.
His comment wasn't exactly positive, but yeah...
If you don't like what Steve posts, no one is forcing you to read it.
