Ivy Bridge Memory: 1600 or better?

I got my 24gb simply because it was $60 AR from Fry's.

So far, I'm running at 8-9gb usage with a 4gb RAMDisk for internet cache (I know, way overkill, but I have the room to spare).

Why? Just curious, never heard of this (what are benefits?)...

RAM more the 1600 for Ivy is not worth the extra cost imho

It helps improve internet browsing speeds a bit, since I'm running a velociraptor. Also, I hear that it helps prolong your SSD's life because it doesn't need to do as many read/write operations to the SSD.

I've noticed that it does help speed things up a bit, although it could be the placebo effect. My relatives running SSDs have reported no speed increases running the RAMDisk cache.
