I also have alot of epic mods/barrels/armor/enchancments.

1 thing too is, the mods/armor from champions gear, can be taken out and put into your pvp gear, that stuff is lvl 56 quality.

Also I worked on crit and surge, so my crits hit HARD, I have seen 4.2k crits.

I disabled it all together I was not impressed by the shadows either...
Some of the performance issue I have seem to differ from zone to zone and it depends for how long I have been playing , after 8 hours orso of gameplay things slow down regardless.

I have a 6970 and a triple core at 3.6GHZ and performance is so so. I have zero to no problems when entering pvp matches regarding framerate drop (no AA enabled run at 2048*1152)

Interesting. My g/f is running a tri-core at 3.6ghz on a 5870, and has everything maxed with 4xaa on, and only goes int he 20's on the imperial fleet...

What resolution? That makes all the difference.
 
I have googled a fair amount..not finding much supporting sites, etc... most google searches highlight stupid "Buy my uber guide" sites...

looking for resources for builds, strat, gear..etc... or maybe its just not really out there yet? too new?

Wicked new man. Don't buy into the guides either, huge scam... Also best place to get info on your characters are the swtor forums. There will be no better place.

I currently have a friend running SW: ToR with super low FPS. like averaging 20ish when his hardware should be doing much more than that. System Specs are i5 2500K 16 Gigs of Ram and he's running a 6950.
 
I am a bounty hunter and I cannot figure out how to shoot my blaster...I think I was able to shoot it fine in the beginning, and after visiting the trainer, and cannot shoot anymore. I've had multiple variations of the blaster, but none of them shoot. If I right click on an enemy, it shoots whatever is in my first slot. If a blaster is in there, it doesn't shoot. With the explosive rocket, it shoots fine.

I still have all of the default controls. What the hell am I missing?

Is he forcing AA/MSAA or anything in catalyst control panel?



Anyway I'm almost done with Tatooine. It's pretty big, but I wouldn't say it's a planet by any means. However, there's only so much you can do with desert. While going through tatooine I thought this game would be cool if it had pod racing, reminded me of episode 1 podracer as I was walking through. Used to love that game.

Did you put your actual blaster in that slot? Your weapon is supposed to be equipped, then you use skills to shoot.
 
I had a smuggler try to gank me last night while I was questing. He popped out of stealth and did his moves. I'm a Sorc. Then I stunned him, Ran and healed up a bit. He chased of course I put a dot on him and then went lightning mode and destroyed him. At the end of the fight I was over 1/2 health and he had a small silver of health when he stealthed. I followed the direction he went while stealthed and when he repopped I used my force speed caught him and killed him.

My guy runs around with a blaster in hand, and will draw it up. It never fires though.

Every one of the 'blaster' weapons I have say 'Requires Blaster Gun' at the bottom or something like that. Pretty sure that's what I have already?
 
Are you sure that your character can actually use a blaster? Check the abilities and see of its listed. You might be limited to assault rifles or heavy cannons.
 
For big aug, I ran my first hard mode BT today, enrage timers everywhere, your group has to pull its weight.
 
Using diplomacy I already hit Light V alignment (10k points) but today I accidentally sent one of my companions on a dark side mission, earning me 40 Dark points. Now I have lost my Light V alignment. Is there ANY way to negate those Dark points and regain alignment Light V or am I just fucked?

do another light mission? I dont think your screwed, just have to do another light mission to bounce it back up, or am I wrong?

Yeah after doing another light side mission it basically removed the dark side points. You can only negate those unwanted alignment points once you have reached 10k points of your desired alignment, then you start negating your mistakes.

SkeletonJack isn't bad for sentinel and marauder basics plus a few sample builds.

Shadows are good looking with debugadvenvirolighting on... And no big perf impact. Maybe an ati issue, I run 570 sli.
 
Honestly I can't even tell a difference (visually speaking) with DebugAdvEnviroLighting. What does it even do?
 
So... We're not allowed on high level planets until we're the correct level? I'm about to drag my nephew around with me for fun; does this mean I might get in trouble for doing so? Were you doing something like looting the container on Tatooine near the Sarlaac pit that continuously respawns and doesn't aggro the elite standing there.

Regardless that's pretty stupid to punish someone for playing the game the way they intended it. If they didn't intend for you to get to the areas they should have placed a restriction to keep you out.

Wonder if you did something else not intended and got banned would your entire EA account get permabanned also? I am completely avoiding their forums as I don't want to run the risk of a ban for asking the wrong question there. But 99.9% of my time spent in MMO's is doing stuff like soloing Heroic 4's for fun. I don't hack, but I do use whatever tools available in game to do so. "If it's in the game it's in the game" is my motto.

Please elaborate on what you were doing wrong so others can avoid it. Right now I am in stealth looting containers in a higher level area for fun and have been doing so since the game came out. The thrill of instant death is what drives me; not some desire to "get rich quick".

anyone have the problem where it stops letting you click on anything on the screen? I had this happen quite a few times. I know about th cntl + U ordeal but just wondering if a permanent fix is planned. What level are you guys? I'm 30 and just about done with tatooine.
 
I just bought this... it's my first MMORPG... and I am scared. I have no idea what to expect, at all. Is this game similar to Mass Effect? Whats a noob friendly class? I am so overwhelmed!

I would say Trooper is a good class for a newbie. Once you get in-game, post your character's name and I'll invite you to the guild. Then you can use guild chat to ask questions and get all the help you need.
 
for the folks who have reached the high levels in this game, is this game at all single player friendly at that level? Or is it raid or group pvp only, like wow became?
Guild drama turned me off WoW (people I though were friends were manipulating dkp and then hijacked the guild bank when I found out, so I have little interest in doing the same again).

If this is a game that you can play at a high level solo, be it crafting, smuggling, whatever I may try it out.
 
I'm a super casual gamer type these days, not so addicted to MMO's and don't have tons of time to game. I am intrigued by SWTOR however -- worth a spin?

It has a fantastic storyline. Perfect for the casual non-MMO gamer.

Ok I made a trooper named Xela. A male cyborg, just my first name spelled backward. I'll have to figure out these controls before anything. :D
 
Playing with close friends makes the game more immersive, however playing solo does not take away from the single player experience at all. The fact that every player gets multiple companions alone gives you the immersive gameplay which you expect from the KOTOR gameplay experience you'd expect

If that is what you are looking for, is a KOTOR experience, then this game is for you, multiplied by 8 times for each class. Beyond this SWTOR allows you to experience more beyond this, and gives you the MP experience only allowed in MMORPGs. Its the best of both worlds imo. I appologize if this made no sense as i have been drinking quite heavily tonight.

Ah, no. I picked the first East Coast server that was on the list ... "Sedyn Kyne". Am I locked to that same server now? I literally just started, I could always just start again on a different server if I need to.... or if that's possible.


Again I am really new... used to FPS games where the server doesnt really matter and always changes.

No, you are not locked into that server. You can create a new character on any other server. Most of us are on The Fatman. You can create a new character with the same name on that server if you want.
