Good ps3 games?

Ratchet & Clank along with God of War were the reasons I finally caved and bought a ps3.
BTW, a new one just dropped called All 4 One with online and local co-op but it's not getting the best reviews, which is a shame I was going to snap it up but I'm poor.

2 of the best games for consoles lately. Bayonetta was pretty fun and punishingly hard.

I've been looking into 2D beat-em-up Scott Pilgrim vs The World on PSN for a while but it is so expensive. I wish it was on steam sales.

Little Big Planet isn't an RPG or Action game, but it is definitely a must play.

I also liked Demon Souls/Assassins Creed when I owned a PS3 :D
 
In a similar position here, I was a PC gamer who grabbed a PS3 for the exclusives. The ratings I've given thigns below should be taken in context of being compared to console games in general and not high end PC gaming which is orders of magnitude better.

  • Heavy Rain - This is a mature, hard hitting game which was thoroughly enjoyable
  • Killzone 3 - Very good FPS (for a console!), good visuals, smooth frame rate and good controls
  • Red Dead Redemption - Typical solid design from Rockstar, lots to do
  • Demon's Souls - Slow, methodical and quite hard 3rd person RPG
  • Little Big Planet 2 - Fun side scroller with loads of puzzles and action and humour.
  • Burnout: Crash - A fun/cheap arcade game
  • Renegade Ops - Another fun/cheap arcade game
  • Metal Gear Solid 4 - I have this but not played yet, I hear it's brilliant.
  • Stuntman Ignition - I really liked this game, good mix between challenge and fun, it starts off irritating but gets much better.

Part of the reason I got the PS3 was for coop with friends, so far we've played:

  • Kane and Lynch - Not too shabby
  • Kane and Lynch 2 - Much better than the first, some very fun parts
  • Killzone 3 - We played this coop, great fun.
  • Renegade Ops - this was just as good coop.
  • Resident Evil 5 - Awkward and not really my cup of tea, good for fans of the series.
  • Army of 2 - Pretty average, frustrating in places
  • Resistance - Good enough to finish, looks extremely dated
  • Soul Calibur 4 - Great for vs button bashing amongst newbs :)

I intend to pick up resistance 2 and 3 at some point as they look like improvements on the original, I also will pick up the Uncharted series at some point, I played Uncharted 2 on a friends PS3 before I got mine and it was pretty good. Dark Souls is the follow up to Demons souls which I'll get once the price has gone down and more importantly once I've completed Demons Souls. I'll also get God of War at some point, probably just the latest one (3). And er, probably grab the original Infamous as well since the 2nd was turned out to be a lot of fun.

Anything thats also available on the PC just grab there, the only exception I made was Kane and Lynch and thats because my interest in it was very low to start with, really only bought for its coop.

Uncharted 1 and 2 and when 3 hits the $20 or less price....I'll get that as well

played FF13 and while overall the game is rocking the 360 version has obvious low poly scenes that distract from the game
 
I just finished Heavy Rain, what an incredible game! The Ratchet and Clank games are a lot of fun also.
 
it seems like there isnt much good rpgs for ps3 eh? like ps2 and ps1 wasnt the console known for rpgs?

A lot of the core RPG devs went portable due to cost reasons (see PSPs abyss-like library of jRPGs)
As for PS3, there are some quality ones if you're willing to go a little more niche, like the Disgaea or Atelier series games. Both Resonance of Fate and FFXIII have their flaws but are still good games.
 
Stardust is another fantastic and quite hard arcade game you can get for cheap, a lot of intense fun.
