AMD Bulldozer expected for Oct release.

Just wait for Sandy-E or get the Ivy . BD better over clock to 5-6 gighertz on air for me to buy this and better perform better in games.

Not everyone can or wants to only buy top-end stuff. Don't assume everyone else is like you. For most people, price/performance ratio is most important.

As far as I know, there are no preorders.

No thanks. X79 isn't looking too good and early batch of motherboards are usually never the best. Look how long the Rampage III Black Edition took to finally come out and Intel's retiring the X58 next year. Secondly, no point getting either of those chips when there is no significant upgrade from a 990x that I can get now.

Obviously someone has not been paying any attention whatsoever.

The 9xx boards which are designed for Bulldozer have been out in the wild and been used by people for several months now. Before, AMD depended on other chipset makers like VIA and nVidia to make chipsets for their processors. Now, they make their own chipsets, and have been for the last few years. To think there won't be good support is just plain stupidity and/or ignorance.

I guess since AMD has sucked the last 2 years i have not kept up with it

Wow, welcome to my you suck ignore list :D You don't think a 1055t for 149.99 is a good CPU but I bet you think an Intel Dual Core is? oops I can't see what you said.

Phenom IIs especially 6-core ones have a tight profit margin I would imagine. I have a feeling they won't be around much longer after BD is out.

which is a shame, because in Australia we can't get the Phenom II 970, 975, or 980. The dream of getting a quick AMD quad will die before it lives.

Tigerdirect has the Asus Sabertooth with a FX 6100 listed amongst their combo's for a nice price of $379.99. It lists as in stock. I don't know if it would ship today if you ordered it and I'm waiting on the 8150 to list anyways.

But if you want to drool.

that is weird. had to check the shops i usually get my stuff (cpl, msy, centrecom, pccg etc..) and you're right, the highest AMD quad you can get in australia is a 965.

Ebay has a couple of international dealers offering OEM AMD parts, like the 960t (droooool), and a couple of them have 980s, but the price is so inflated versus the newegg/tigerdirect price, yet Newegg does not ship internationally and Tigerdirect charges a $25 fee on top of the shipping for all international orders, I simply cant justify purchasing them. I make ~yearly visits to the US, so I may wait to pick one up. My main concern is having a strong set of threads for Skyrim, so I may just buy a 955 and OC the poor thing to death.
