[Steam] EA Week 5/2-5/9

Hoping for the new Medal of Honor to be on sale so I can pick up a copy for the BF3 beta. :D

35€ is going to be the end of you? That's $51 in Americaland. My steam account is "valued" at $1,745.03. No Idea what I actually paid for all of it, I would guess about half of that. Steam sales are a mother fucker sometimes.

No - 35€ won't have the end of me. But if I continue to buy at this rate the Steam sales might. I can't count how many times I started pulling my hair out on whether I should buy a game or not, nor the self-convincing mantras to not give in to an attractive price...

You know - like not being seduced by the Dark Side?

It might be, but I doubt it. Maybe Friday if anything. I'm expecting the usual deals. Dead Space, Dragon Age, Crysis, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, and C&C. Maybe a EA collection by the end of the week if we're real lucky.

In your opinion, is Hot Pursuit or Shift the better deal (between those two)?
I see Shift 2 Unleashed has TAGES DRM on top of Steam, so I'll probably skip that one, assuming these older ones don't have extra DRM?

Only the limited edition came with BF3 beta access. The normal edition does not.

Depends what you are after. Hot Pursuit is basically Burnout in a NFS skin with the feeling of it being a bit rushes. Shift tries to be much more of an arcade and sim racer hybrid. It has issues, but the game can be fun. HP's auto-log feature could be fun if you get a bunch of friends in the game and enjoy competing for the best times on courses.

I would have gotten Shift had it been $5. Would have considered Hot Pursuit at $9.99.

So.. $1.80 more than you're willing to pay for Shift huh?

I picked up Hot Pursuit -- everyone I've talked to about it loves it.

Hoping for Dragon Age 1. Want to play it and I lost my CD-key after reformatting. No more retail purchases for me anymore. DD only.

I'll be waiting on todays titles for a holiday sale. I don't feel they chopped off the top enough.

I have an oldish computer (a 2.2 GHz Athlon X4200+ dual-core CPU) and an 8800 GT video card. Which of these N4S games can it play? Maybe I can start off at "Undercover" since it doesn't cost much. TIA.

You can find the system requirements for each game on its individual page.

Yeah, but that's usually the min. requirement, right? I was wondering in "real life gameplay" what it'd handle. I'll take a look when I'm home since Steam is blocked at work.

And I see others have asked what's the best bang for the buck in fun factor. I'll probably get either of the 2 cheaper games, but most likely not HP.

Would have gone for Hot Pursuit for 4.99 and not more. Would not even consider wasting my time with Shift or Undercover. BLEH!!

Saying this as a huge NFS fan: Undercover was crap. Shift should play fine. HP should as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

You have to draw your limits. I won't pay more than $5 for games that aren't on my radar.

And Shift should not be on your radar. Skip it totally and go for Shift 2 when it is on sale, or pick up Forza 2/3 for 360.

So either Steam is wrong or the official MOH site is wrong. Take your pick.

Guess this would be pretty important to figure out. I would not buy this game for anything but the BF3 beta invitation, even on a Steam sale.

I know when I bought the normal edition from IGN's PC Game store it didn't come with any BF3 beta access, so there is that. Steam used to sell the LE I believe so that BF3 info might be left over from that.

Hope Valve knows thats false advertising if that is indeed true.

Nothing of interest today.

If I didn't already have PVZ i would be all over that.

The racing games are all really bad deals - each one of those titles has recently been on sale at D2D or at the EA Store for less money.

Wow, now Steam can't even get the prices right when they finally do have a sale of some kind. I'm rapidly losing my faith in them.

Good choice on HP. Its not at enough of a discount right now since it hasn't been out all that long. Hold off for the end of the year sales or the new years sales.
