and I will have to go ahead and disagree with you.

I only know numbers for myself as example, but I am sure there are more out there like me.

I've done this for over 6 years, generally been in the top 50 ave ppd. I've shown interest in helping others on the team......

and never once been nominated....

I simply make too many points to be noticed as one of the little guys......
and too little to be a big dog. I am certain there are many more in this catagory.

if that's the case then you should be nominated for sure!

There might be a lot of people deserving of nominations that haven't been nominated. We should try to get them recognized.
 
It took a few years chugging along with antiquated hardware, but I am inside the top 100. I hit 100 yesterday, but sometime during the night, I got to 99. My rear view mirror shows that i'm going to get mowed down by a couple peeps in the next few days, but I will bask in the glory while I can.

Ah, I remember being in the top 100 :( It was all too brief an experience...

Can't wait to migrate and get a place where I can fold to my heart's content again :D

click on someones tag like zero who has won and look at all post... click the 14 pg and see that those 200 shown there only go back a few weeks to a month at most....

click on any other person who claims they get looked over and you will go back a few months....

so far the difference in forum activity is about a factor of difference...
this excludes irc ... those that get noticed and nominated are such because they are around a lot....
they fold hard... they live on the forums... they stay engaged in the community of folders 24/7 ...

if you feel someone should get nominated go nominate them... the thread is open...

so basically you're saying if you thread spam (not that zero does) you stand a better chance?

I understand that you make hardgod in 2 months you are more likely to be noticed, but I hardly think that is justification to over look others.

well there are over 892 Active folders... if people don't see your name more often than the others...they are not going to remember you... let alone have a reason to nominate you...

spamming would technically increase you chances...but just making random comments...people will probably ignore you as well... but, if even half of those comments are helpful ... they are gonna remember you...

the nomination thread IS open... I see no complainers nominating anyone... if you think someone is deserving... nominate them...

Yay I hit 98 and think I will hit 97 today. It looks like getting into the top 50 will be hard. The idea of top 20 seems like it's unreachable,any advice to get there?

Patience, money and a crap ton of PPD is what's needed. 10 months ago i stated that i would be in the top 20PPD within 18 months. At that point it was 53k to get into the top 20,- I now have a box that does 100k ppd and i'm no where near that goal. It doable but you have to have space and time and money to run a farm. To bet in top 20points wise - you just have to grind away at the science. To do it a couple more multi CPU boxen are probably needed, at the moment the jury is split as to whether to go SR-2 and over clock the snot out of 2 intel hex cores or just go for downright muscle and get a G34 board under linux. Given your current PPD you may get away with just a single addition but the bar is going up all the time

Today I will pass my mark I left at OCW... 40657965 over 3 years... now 40398300 for [H] since feb 12th...

Total 80m and 13k wu...

but now...

nice! I guess I did that a while ago without realizing it. Had only 28 million at OCW. Our little team has dropped out of the top 100 it seems. 102 as I type this. stoudtlr is #1 on the team with 33 ppd average haha (oh, the irony).

Hey Patriot - I see you just cracked the 1 million ppd 7 day average - has that been done before at [H]? Well done mate....
