I just downloaded and installed for my 5970 without problems. Haven't tested in games yet.

Driver date in device manager is 1/19/10.

The new Catalyst Control Panel is pretty nice in my opinion. The overdrive feature will probably never compete with Afterburner since you can't set fan controls to adapt to the GPU temperature.

Will report back if I have problems

EDIT: Lol, enabled Morphological AA and then opened Metro 2033. DX9, 5970, Phenom II 955, 5760x1080, medium settings. No Morph - 70 FPS at menu. Morph - 10FPS at menu. I tried enabled DX11 with Morph and had to kill the program because it got literally 0 FPS.

i took the plunge and installed it. i must say, i really like this new CCC. it looks sleeker and more professional. now it's time to take these drivers through the paces of some games!

It does look nicer. And yes -- same here. We'll see how it goes. Thanks OP.

On my 5850, the issue where the top right corner of the screen has laggy mouse movement is back (happened in 10.12). Also, the Windows 7 loading screen on start-up bugs out even more than usual, with the graphic distorting and moving way off center for a split second. Aside from that, no gaming issues just yet.

Edit:
This release is running great for me.

The driver package showed the same as the original 11.1a. The only update was to the CCC2. I saw no performance change.

Anyone actually get the blooming input black out in this driver? I've played BC2 for 15-20 minutes and it seems to be fixed.

bah I'm still getting random "video driver has stopped responding" crashes, even on the desktop. I shoulda never left v9.11

I had some problems with these drivers. I got tons of Lag in BC2 & the lighting was messed up on buildings. I cant explain the lighting problem like it was twitching so im back to 10.10e

I'm using them on BC2 no problems at all. Smooth as silk...

Crossfire still broken in bad company. No surprise there. On the plus side, 3dmark scores improved a tad.

Yea in any drivers I've tried past 10.5a, my 5870s in crossfire perform worse than when its disabled. Only in bad company though.

mouse cursor lag in the right corner, and the glitched windows 7 loading screen on a 5850 here. Stay the hell away from these.

I don't know if this was in the old CCC because it was hard to find, but I love the layout of the new CCC. The virtual desktops feature and the built in gpu accelerated video encoding are awesome. I just had to make sure I enabled it.

I'm still tweaking some settings but i've had no issues gaming with these on my work rig's 4890. I will test my 6850 later. I'm using this on the leaked Windows 7 SP1. Everything's a little snappier than before.

Well this is disappointing :(

Looks like I'll be sticking with the 10.11, and continue to deal with the stupid corrupted mouse cursor problems :(

Oh god, that's still in these? Only driver I had do that was 10.12. Can't believe that's still here.

I haven't used 10.12 on my 6970s so I don't know if it affects these cards. On my 4870X2s though the bug was most definitely there and apart from being annoying at the desktop, rendered RTS games unplayable.

Dont have this issue with 6950 flashed to 6970 crossfire

People have reported this problem in SC2, and others (like myself), in Heroes of Newerth.

Do you have either of these games? I'll probably still try the drivers just in case, but I'm not very optimistic :(

I have played SC2 / WoW / BC2 / NWN1 and they all seem to be functioning the same. No real performance boost, however... I never dip below 60 FPS on max on all the games anyways.

Only difference is that BC2 no longer bleeds with blooming issues. I don't play protoss so I don't know about the pylon bug, and the new CCC is actually from this century.

HoN's the tricky one, as you often move the mouse to those corners, and HoN is one of the only few games that triggered the corrupt cursor in the first place.

Yeah I've brought it up to S2 support several times and they're sure it's an AMD driver problem. I'm starting to agree since people have reported the same thing in SC2. Weird thing is that in AMD's very own release notes for 10.12 they state that they fixed the problem with the mouse cursor randomly getting corrupted. Sucks though because 10.12 brought up the lag-when-mouse-in-corner bug :(

The two are related. The mouse in corner bug is the fix for the corrupted cursor bug.

Seems like it, but I rather have the cursor corruption. In SC2 / Hon with 10.12, Depending where your cursor is at, and you map scroll, you get frame lag. In games like that, where you are constantly moving your mouse, and keeping your APM up to react on certain situations, frame lag is the last thing you need. It causes hesitation, and could cost you.

ATI needs to get their shit together.

+1

YES THANK YOU!

No, because it doesn't support Eyefinity. I will not be buying any PC titles that don't support it

Well these drivers are good for at least one thing. The 12.a hotfix randomly dimmed my monitors and there was no way to fix it. After installing these drivers I can adjust contrast from "0" (wtf?) to 100. Problem solved.

I am going to give the driver a shot. Everything works fine with my 5850 except when I play a flash video, I'll get a flicker on all 3 screens when the video first plays and then when I close down the browser window the video is on.

Nope. I didn't make this investment for them to sit idle

It's the wrong attitude. Games should be experienced for the gameplay, not for the sake of checking out toys.

Honestly why the hell would you want to play any RTS in Eyefinity is beyond me. It only looks good in FPS and simulators.

Im waiting until the 26th and getting the absolute final release build. I dont want to have to reinstall windows because of some buggy beta release when the real release is in two days.
