Looking for a monitor to use with my laptop (as a primary monitor using the laptop basically as a desktop) and for my PS3 and I came cross i-inc on tiger direct.

Looking at these two:

25" @ $170

28" @ $250

I'm mainly interested in the 28" since I could use the real estate while working on things for my online classes. They seem like an excellent value and have mostly positive reviews. Seems like I'd definitely want to purchase the extended warranty because a lot of people said theirs' died shortly after the warranty.

Since I value [H]'s collective opinions over random reviewers, has anyone here used either of these?

I've got the 28" coming in this monday, I'll try to remember to throw some feedback up about it here.

I-Inc is the 1 year warranty version of the same exact Hanns-G of the same sizes IIRC. The Hanns-G is just the same thing, instead a tad more expesive and it comes with a 3 year.

They are the best "budget" monitor for the size and price range. TN panels obviously, but still good for budget monitors. If it craps out though, good luck?

So I just got the monitor today, much earlier than anticipated. All I can say is WOW. For $250 I feel like I just robbed someone. This monitor looks amazing, zero dead pixels, fantastic color for a TN panel. Honestly for the price of my refurbished 3007wfp I could have had 3 of these for an eyefinity setup! No ghosting, minimal backlight bleed... I think my only gripe is the bezel seems slightly bigger than what most modern LCD's have, but really that's just nitpicking. Absolutely fantastic monitor, get it :)

Never ordered on line before (monitor). Thinking of ordering the I-Inc iH-282HPB. Is it really worth it?

I'm actually starting to question the logistics of it now.

Most good reviews are from short-term owners. I could only find one or two positive reviews from someone who said they have owned it for over a year. Most of bad reviews say the monitor died within a month of the warranty expiring.

So $250 for 1-2 years of use vs. $300 - $350 for 4-6 years makes a lot more sense.

Hopefully I can make up my mind before I get my tax return haha.

FWIW - I have a 28" Hanns-G version in my son's room, for over a year now with no issues. He uses it everyday for school, PC, XBOX, and TV without issues.
