Just finished Serious Sam 1. Wow, at first I felt like I was playing Doom or Duke Nukem in Egypt but then, you get to the last fight. Epic. Loved it. Now I have to play part 2.

If you love Serious Sam 1st & 2nd Encounters, you'd also love Serious Sam 2. Not exactly sure where you can buy it from though. SS2's also fairly long too, ~45 levels.

do you guys think Black Ops could go on sale anytime soon? didn't MW2 went for around $35 some time ago?

I played Borderlands (single player only) when it was released and enjoyed it, stopped playing after I lost my profile after format.
now I’m thinking about buying a legitimate copy, so does every DLC have different online servers so if I don’t have them all I’ll be missing some of the servers? should I go for the game + the last expansion (Claptrap’s Robot Revolution) only?

i highly doubt there will be a black ops sale anytime soon to be honest & 1h 11m left till the next set of games

Nah, you may get MW2 if your lucky.

Day 2: brought Burnout Paradise, I didn't have a good arcade racer on my PC and for £3.75 I thought id take the risk.

Picked this up too based on its Metacritic score. I'm not a racing fan but the price was right and I'm sure I'll either get a few hours' enjoyment playing or at least pass some time feeling guilty over the growing list of Steam games I own but haven't played. :)

Another Witcher purchase here. $5? Heck yeah. Already bought Tomb Raider and Defence Grid during the Black Friday sale.

Damn these sales are addictive! 24 minutes to go until the next batch...

12/22 deals.. kinda weak in my opinion. Just Cause 2 is up again from last week for anyone that missed it.

Aliens vs Predator $5.00
Bully: Scholarship Edition $3.75
Day of Defeat:Source $2.50
Just Cause 2 $7.50
Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale $6.80
Assassin's Creed 2 $14.99
Zuma's Revenge! $8.00
Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare $14.99
Trials 2: Second Edition $2.50
SPORE $7.50
Railworks 2 $6.00
Tales of Monkey Island Complete Pack $17.49

Is Just Cause 2 worth $7.50?

I'd get Assassin's Creed II if it didn't have that retarded Ubisoft DRM.

Yes, I picked it up on sale last week and put about 20 hours into it. Got about 28% completion with the story done and I was content with that for what I paid. You could easily spend 100 hours 100%ing this game.

I might take a look at Just Cause 2, any common criticisms of the game? I'd imagine for $7.50 can't really go wrong there.

They tend to save their very best deals for Christmas weekend and also new years weekend, don't panic . . .

JC2 is a fun mindless game. It did not draw me in but it is fun nonetheless. At that price I say get it.

It's mediocre as a shooter, mediocre as a driving game, the voice acting for the main NPCs is mostly horrible and the storyline is meh. But the positives far, far outweigh the negatives IMO and a $7.50 price point is a sweet bargain.

It's a so-so shooter but there are many more things to do than shoot people. Even so, there are some fairly creative ways to kill people and the game tracks *how* you kill them.

It's an average driver but that's not the point of the game, and it's still pretty fun driving around the HUGE map. I have something like 350km driven in game the few days I've played and there are a lot of different vehicles to drive. Some of the racing challenges are fun too, particularly the one that has you going the opposite direction on an elevated highway.

The voice acting is bad but some of the 'barks' are noteworthy. I still laugh when you hijack a vehicle and the driver says "What are you doing? Oh my gawwwwd!" LOL

The storyline--It's a sandbox game, don't look for much of a story.

Good for my wallet, nothing I would buy today :D

Just got Defense Grid from previous day. Enjoying it so far, though it doesn't seems to support AA although I've create a custom profile and force AA

ugh nothing but shit deals and repeats. COD4 was onsale for the same price like 3 times this year.

Yeah, nothing for me either today. Might have gotten JC2 if I hadn't had the PS3 version already.

Is AC2 that good? I'm seeing a few comments around here that are pretty positive about the game.

The concensus is, if you liked AC1, you'll likely enjoy AC2. I, however, enjoyed AC1 overall, but was so sick of the repetition by the time AC2 came around that I didn't like it. I'll prolly pick it back up in a couple years to try...

You also may like AC2 if you are into Italian Renaissance historical stuff, albeit with a large amount of revision/fantasitcal added.

The Golden Rule of Steam Sales is to never ever buy anything that's more than $5. It works brilliantly and saved me tons of money on games I'd never play/finish anyway.

Please people do not buy Killing Floor unless you understand the concept 'teamwork'. You can't rambo your way through the waves.

it will take WAY over 100 hours to do everything. the enemy spawning and dealing with choppers is annoying but other than that is pretty fun. its certainly the most content I have ever seen in a game.

That entirely depends on how big the game is.
$5 - $15 is about right.

See, that's the problem right there, that's why you end up with dozens if not hundreds of dollars spent on games.

To me it doesn't depend on how big the game is. If it isn't on sale for $5 or less then I don't buy it. There is no reason for me to pay $15 when I know that it will be $5 eventually. Time is on my side on this one. You pay $15 because you want it now. ;)

AC2 is one of the best games i've played

HOWEVER

i played it on PS3, and not PC, because I did not want to deal with the DRM

I'm currently at just over 75% completion, with a gametime of 58 hours. It sometimes gets a little tedious, but then I just screw around with vehicles(plenty of money to do so now), and before long I'm back at the grind. So. Much. Fun.

You're going faster than I am, ~25 hours and 28% complete. Too much bombing gas stations and taking off in a motorcycle. Now I'm on a quest to pick up all drug/skull/black box drops but I still have a little faction expansion to get to before I can see all of them.

So. Much. Fun.

Worth quoting again! :)

Damn. I was really hoping for a good deal on AC2. I was afraid it would only be 50%.

I enjoyed the first game well enough, but it was repetitive and I was forgiving because I paid only $5 for it. I was willing to pay $10 for the second, more polished and fleshed out version, but I'm not paying $15, especially with that stupid DRM still active.

I have barely touched JC2 and just bought FEAR 2, so I think I'm good on games from this sale unless I see something truly excellent.

Burnout Paradise turned out to be a fun game, and a value at $5...I don't usually play racing games, but it's a fun distraction. Nice w/ a windows xbox controller.

I've always wanted to try out Bully, but it was always one of those titles that I knew I would never spend good money on. At $3 I'm in.

So that's about $8 I've spent so far. I think Steam is being very clever in working with the publishers to lower the prices like that. Each of the three things I've bought (Guadrian of Light, FEAR 2 DLC, and Bully) were things I had no intention of buying... but for $8... it's worth gambling on, that I might discover a gem.

Probably not, but I'm always hopeful.

picked up just cause 2, the witcher directors cut, bioshock 2, fear 2 project origin

You've done very well for yourself. Now your problem is finding the time to play through those. Bioshock 2 and Just Cause 2 were 2... excuse me, two of the best games from this year.
