The Misunderstanding - Presented by AMD

Great stuff. When I have GTX 480 SLI running in my office, it bumps my office temp by 5 degrees F compared to 5870 CFX.

LOL

I was waiting to see a LAN party in the garage with like 5-10+ players each with multi-monitor (SLI) set ups. Something that MIGHT actually put them on the power consumption radar!

I'm watching it but, all I had to hear was "infrared" and knowing it was from AMD I knew what was coming... great stuff, however. Great for a good laugh and I needed one this morning. :D

cant believe it took this long to make that video. I think they needed more fans on the pc though to keep it cool. Maybe even a portable ac unit

It wasn't actually the Nvidia GPU, it was the ten million watt green CCFL.

I think this is the funniest video ever..considering I've had to RMA 6 ATi cards because of heat causing throttle under high load.

LoL. Such bad marketing. Not surprising though.

Yeah, really easy to figure out where it was going right away, but still pretty sweet. :p

6? Stop wrapping your PC in a parka, should clear right up.

that was pretty hot (pun intended)

nice to see some humor being used.

:D

Actually, the bearing in the fans go. I turn my pc on to a loverly grinding noise. fan failure has nothing to do with my environment being abnormally warm...and it IS warmer than normal...but I love in the Great White Nroth...heat should only be a problem in summer months...not spring, like when the last card gave up the ghost.

Nevermind that because of multi-monitor issues, no multi-monitor user gets the "low power" idle as advertized...single monitor users, sure...

I was amused even though it was predictable. The game running at like 10 FPS was a nice touch too, heh.

haha good stuff...but i'll have the last laugh when my heating bill = $0 this winter :p

(and yes, I've crossed the streams with AMD/Nvidia)

Do you think those crappy old LCDs were on purpose. Who wants a Fermi to game on 19" LCDs!!

Look behind you. Is that your sense of humor that you dropped?

The heat is keeping me from buying a GTX 480. It's about 25C hotter than my 5850. I keep my case on the desk, so these cards in SLI would be blowing an extra 25C+ back into my face. Nvidia has to get those temps down fast.

the butthurt fermi posts in this thread made it better.

It's not even all that obvious unless you have a hard on for videocards and the two main companies.

I thought it was going to be a lan party. I didn't realize people were so sensitive about vidcards.

I don't remember if Intel's made fun of a competitor like this.

I remember Nvidia putting up a butthurt anti-intel site illustrated by a political cartoonist.

Oh AMD, you so bad and evil for this ;]
