Couple questions:

Can you play this in windowed mode? If so, how do I change from fullscreen?

I see people are posting the FPS they are getting, how do I see mine? Couldn't find an option in game or a benchmark test.

Not sure about the first question but get fraps to monitor your framerate its free and does the job nicely.

Hrrm... played for like 8 hours last night but I can't stay in a game today. It's either "You have been kicked" or some PB error.

Blah.

Although I did just get 6 sniper kills in a row on that killsquad competition style before I got the kick. Ha.

Nice. M24 is my love, the accuracy makes my day so much better. Also, did anyone else thank God when the sniper scope blur effect was taken out from beta?
 
Those of you that changed your FOV in the .ini file, did you notice it helped you in multiplayer? were you still able to track enemies well? the default FOV seems too much like a console.
 
yea the default FOV suck its like tunnel vision.

i think it will be a couple days with all these servers poping up before we get kinks worked out of mulitplayer. I have yet to touch the single player is that wrong? I love the multiplayer so much ! This game is so much better than BF2

Never played beta, glad that didn't make it through. Yeah, starting to appreciate the m24 - was mostly playing with the semi-auto and the dragonov yesterday.

i run a 16:10 1920*1080 and use fov 65, just BARELY starts to fishbowl on the sides of my screen and feels like a normal shooter.
 
.. game is starting to Erk me... Damn EA.. never have their shit together on launch day...

Still cant connect, and if i do connect, i play about 3 mins then get "you have been kicked"..

Tried everything, Uninstalling everything to do with beta, reinstalled BFBC, turned off all process's. still no go..

Heard Ea was sending out a R4 server side patch to all hosting companies, and should be fixed in a couple hours.. But that was at 3 PM..

Guess Its good i didnt uninstall CODMW2, time to go play that for a bit..
 
Played for a little bit with my brother... got d/c'd out of 1/2 of our games, although the games that we didn't get d/c'd from were pretty fun.

Somehow the servers now show that I have 0 stats... except I still have the dog tags I collected.

i have this same problem. Similar system - Win7 x64, i7 920, gtx 280, 6gb of ram. Drivers are up to date, no firewall, no anti-virus. As far as i've seen so far, everyone with this problem has win7 64. :mad:
 
I got the game from BB this afternoon and install went smoothly. I bought the Limited Edition DVD and got the unlocks done. I got to play all of 30 mins of single player before the wife got home and wanted to talk. :(

Single player looked fantastic; definitely worth the price of the game. As others mentioned the availability of names was kind of annoying. No special characters allowed which will have to be changed to increase the pool from which to draw from. I tried the server browser for all of 30 secs before I gave up.

It literally takes 2-5 minutes for the server browser to finish for me and my brother. That's step 1 though... then actually joining a server is the second part which isn't always doable for reasons unknown to me. When my brother finally finds a server he can join, all I have to do is go to the friends tab and join which works flawlessly thus far.

Yeah, I think the FOV definitely needs to be changed from defaults. I set mine from 55 to 65 (1920x1080) and it makes a world of difference, I might even try jacking it up a little more, but I'm happy with this for now.

FOV and multiplayer I can't comment on because I can't connect :(
 
Retail version here, it continues to say, Connection to the game server has been lost. I have not been able to play multipayer for 2 days now, WTF is going on?
 
As soon as we got into a server last night... we played 3 hours straight

Looks like it was fixed, I just played for about 2 hours with no problems.

m1911 is a beautiful pistol, I can reliably get short range kills with it no problem. Favorite pistol so far, probably will be my favorite in the whole game (don't think there's another .45?).

Had to manually unlock it since I never got my limited edition key.
 
I haven't had this much fun playing a multiplayer game since Battlefield 2. The only annoying thing is the alarm going off when your team is about to lose. I don't mind the dot people complained about.

It takes waaaaaaaay too long to refresh the server list.
Ping times don't even show in the server browser unless you're running as admin - that's just plain stupid.
I just tried adding a server to my favorites, and got the "Waiting for data" dialog box that didn't seem to be doing anything (I waited two minutes or so.)

Criticizing the downright terrible server browser is not trolling.
 
Well, I solved my CTD/white-screen-crash issue..kinda. The game defaulted me to high settings, so I didn't think that could be the culprit...I dropped my settings to medium just for the hell of it and bam, no more crashes... But if I change a single setting outside of the medium setting, I get a CTD/white-screen-crash with 2 minutes.. Any ideas? :( I'm happy I can at least play(single player, don't even start with MP connectivity issues :( ) Oh, and my sig rig has a big brother now.

If you are currently using a password with special characters on your EA account, change it to something simple with just letters and numbers.

this was the reason I wasn't able to log into the PC beta for most of the month.

Battlefield UI's have never been the best. To this day the BF2 UI is horrible. 2142 was a little better and faster but it sucked too. BC2 isn't horrible. I don't mind waiting an extra 20 seconds for the server list to show up. It's literally 20 seconds. I haven't tried adding a server to my favs yet so I don't know how that works.

Is it that difficult to run the game as admin? It is stupid but this is so easy to do its not even worth mentioning imo. Start > bad co and right click the first damn item.
 
My password is just plain letters, all ports are forwarded to this computer, and firewall is disabled, so I'm not really sure what to do at this point.

It's irrelevant how easy it is to run the game as admin. It's stupid from a security standpoint. It's piss-poor programming. There's no reason a game should need elevated privileges to achieve that. And if you have Steam, you have to run Steam itself as admin as well.

And it's not 20 extra seconds, it's like a minute, and every time you switch back and forth between tabs (favorites, history, etc) to the main list, you have to wait. Every time you want to change your search parameters, you have to wait.

The server browser isn't just mediocre. It's not even bad.

It's broken.
 
Although there are lots of bugs serverside, My server is up and running and needs people
