So I purchased a Palit video card back in 2008 HD4870 512MB. Form day one the second DVI port did not work, but I didn't notice until about 3 months after owning the card. Fast forward a few months and I try to RMA the card, only to find out there is no telephone number, the website does not work properly and there is NO ONE HUMAN at all to help.

After submitting a RMA request about 5 times, I finally got a reply. I sent the card back to them at the address specified, and waited... 4 weeks pass and I send another email inquiring about my videocard. I get an email back form one Edward who is happy to provide me a LESSER videocard then the one I sent in for RMA. Here is the email.

"Dear Eric

We learned from the manufature 4870 has no inventory since the GPU is out of production. I was wondering if you can accept GTS 250 1GB instead. Attached is the specs of ATS 250. Please go through it and let me know your decision. Thanks

Gracom Technologies
RMA Dept"

After receiving this email I was a little screw faced. After 30 days of trying to get an RMA, contacting the store I bought it form for a telephoen number (which they had none) trying to find other leads. I was at a point of pulling out my hair.

I kindly refused the slower video card and asked if they could provide a 4890/5850 or 260GTX 216 core.

It's been a week and a half and I haven't had a reply back, I found a number newly posted on the website that allows me to call, but no one ever answers or replies.

I can't believe a large company like this would be completely useless and unhelpful.... Now I'm out of a 4870, and have absolutely nothing to show for it.

I've got to say THUMBS DOWN... NEVER EVER DEAL with such a crap company.

The store I work for carried Palit cards for a few months because my manager went to a gaming event and talked to a head exec from Palit so we gave them a try. We had lots and lots of issues with them and we went right back to EVGA. Palit was terrible.

HardOCP had a "good riddance" to Palit awhile back. After dealing with their lame director of marketing personally last year, i have to agree.

They are OoB in the USA .. for a good reason

sorry about your experience

If they don't have 4870s, ask for a 4890, 275, 260, or 5770. That is unacceptable. trying to push an inferior graphics card onto you. If they refuse, kindly (or maybe not-so-kindly) tell them exactly what you think of them and buy from ASUS/XFX or eVGA/BFG in future.

Palit was the one with the frogs, right?

It doesn't matter, they are not really a factor in nVidia's lineup, anymore.

Weren't they Gainward at one time? Way back when Gainward was awesome.

What can the OP *really* do? Palit is out of business in the USA
- and apparently they never cared about customer service :p

Good riddance to them, as the owner of this site said a year ago.

The OP is doing the next best thing. Warning others. Maybe hit up a few other forums and share your experience with Palit's customer "service"
- they are still in business in Europe and the rest of the world; they just couldn't compete here.

i dunno, perhaps the OP should get *something* out of it

a GTS 250 is better than nothing at all

.. then tell everyone how much Palit sucks

Bad luck ,palit and amd/ati had a problem because 4850DDR5model palit made since than palit has not got any card with ati gpu .You can look to their product line no 4890 ,no 5*** .
Butthey should been offered something equal like gtx260 or a refund

Palit went out of business or stopped making GPUs earlier this year, but they still have a few cards floating around.

Don't buy them, not worth your brain power.

They're still available here in the Netherlands. Almost considered getting one. Glad I got my current Asus card instead :)

None of whats true? They did leave the US market (good riddance). I really hope they don't come back, horrid history.

Charlie makes crap up. What was that dated, 2 months ago? Is there any RELIABLE news since then that palit is returning to the USA?
If so, it would be good news for the op .. and we can hope they hire better people this time - IF it is true
