Can you help me choose a PSU for my rig?

CPU: i7 920 CPU which I hope to keep at about 3.6Ghz

Graphics: Radeon 5870

Motherboard: Rampage 2 gene

RAM: 6Gb G.Skill 1600 ddr3

Hard Drive: 500GB Samsung F3

DVD-RW drive
probably inside an HAF 922 case

I prefer modular so that I can keep the case tidy, and I'd like it to be fairly quiet. I'm asking because I don't want to spend too much, otherwise I'd just go for any good brand 800-1000w psu.

Yes, the TPN at $115 is a great deal. I think they have the blue fan version for $110 no rebate.

TPN 750 is a better choice than the HX520 IMO.

More efficient and more power....both made by Seasonic.

Yes, that is a good unit. If you don't need a modular unit, the Corsair 750TX can be had for $100 AR.

Hmm, that looks good too...

Which is better between the Corsair and the Antec from a technical standpoint?

Looking at specs on newegg, the Corsair has one 12V rail with 60amps and the antec has 4. But I read a review of the Antec which said that it's very stable and low on noise. (I have hardly any technical knowledge of PSUs so the above is just repeating things I've read without understanding what they mean btw)

Thanks for the replies so far!

The main comparison is between efficiency, IMO...

The Antec is slightly more efficient than the Corsair, but you certainly wouldn't go wrong with either of those two units. They're both good quality PSUs. The main decision is modular vs. non-modular. For $95 after rebate, I'd probably go with the Antec.

The Antec is better...more efficient, better ripple suppression. Only place the Corsair beats it is in voltage regulation....maybe aesthetics too...but that is all about personal tastes

Are you planning future additions? Are you going to be folding 24/7 on both your GPU and your CPU? If so then get a 750 or greater PSU. If not, you don't need that much power. A good quality 500-600W unit will satisfy your needs and then some. There's no reason to have more than 25% worst-case power headroom on a standard use gaming desktop.
