^ If it's the same as mine it's a Bush desk.^

Is that a NAS or an external HDD enclosure?

I would be interested in where you got that.

Thanks!

I believe that is an HP Windows Home Server, you can bump up the ram and always add 1-3 extra drives depending on how you purchase the base model. I believe even some of them have ESATA for more storage options.

yea its a MediaSmart EX470

Heres mine. No way I can compare to some of you. Just a cheapo walmart desk. Its the only L-desk I could find with an open corner. I soooo want a Ikea Galant, but there isnt a store near me.

Just out of curiosity which lens is that sitting on the desk?

Last time I posted to one of these was in 2007....
My post from 2007:

Since then, I've moved out of my parents house. I gained alot of space, but still it's cluttered. I work from home so I'm at this workstation basically 24x7 for both work and personal use. I used to have 2x 24" screens, but I found that the second one was too distracting and the width of them was too far of a distance to move my neck back and forth... and the 24" is fine with me.

Looking at these pics of my new workstation setup makes me realize how much clutter there is! :(

The "workstation" on the right side is just for when I have to work on other people's PCs so I don't have to unhook all my stuff.

In action (when I used to have the dual monitor setup):

Here's my quite messy setup, even right after I cleaned it. Disregard the partially painted back wall, I've been to busy with college to finish it.
Time to hit up ebay to get rid of stuff :D
EDIT: Some will notice the lack of an FW900 in this picture, it's in very very bad condition at the moment so it's hiding until I have time to work with it.

You'll notice Dune in my chair, if you haven't read it, you definitely should. It's great book, I've been reading through it again since I found it.

How do you like that chair? I was thinking about getting a second desk chair and wasn't sure how I would like microfiber.

Made some updates to my office. Retired the mediocre Logitech Z-5500's for a new audio setup. Finally back to crisp stereo.

you need to paint the inside those speakers green to match your kb/mouse/ruler lol
Nice old Silicon Graphics keyboard. :D

If that the only SGI thing you have?
his keyboard would go nicely with my monitor :D

I'm not going to lie Ryle, for having a pretty great man-cave going on there, I think it's time you upgrade the monitor... :)

Why not have em? We're all geeks here lol.

Well, I'm both a geek and an owner of several computers. I asked the question because I have some computers in my garage that I don't know what to do with. What do you use more then one computer at a time for?

@ Zackwatt: Yea, it's the only SGI thing I have currently, I used to have a monitor though.

@Ryle: Diggin the monitor man! Good choice! :D

Love your setup dude, its incredible. I may aquire one of those desks too myself, I love IKEA desks, but this one is insane.

I read Dune, incredible book.... did you see the mini-series that made it on SCI-FI back like..... 5 years ago I think, very accurate adaptation to the book. The movie that was made a while ago was not accurate at all, had way to many holes, but for 2 hours you couldnt expect much, the mini-series is about 8 or 9 hours long I think, I cant remember. Worth the watch if you liked the book.
Also read the more recent novels by Herbert's son, which are not that bad, he follows his fathers original story quite well, infact, Heroes of Dune is suppost to take place during and between periods in the original Dune novel which may fill in a few missing gaps that I thought the book had (nothing big, just enough that it continually peaks my interest).

Ryle

Awesome setup dude.

What do you use all those three computers for?

4 actually  got the little atom next to the main one. Lian Li is main pc, atom and the antec are both linux servers and the coolermaster is a windows one.

Real answer is I have no use I just like playing with stuff :D.
