What's the best skin ever? I'm quite curious.

it's called "best skin ever", or BSE for short.

edit: oh, and don't let the warranty of the ZAGG be your selling point. their customer service is the WORST, and i'm in the middle of fighting with them right now so they don't charge me $30 for a new shield because they misplaced a piece of my full body shield when i tried to get a warranty replacement (figured they'd honor the warranty since I was getting a refurb phone so I placed all the pieces on a piece of paper and mailed it to them. whoever handled the paper, lost one of the pieces of plastic and now I'm getting boned.)

I've been mostly happy with the BSE products I've put on several devices. They can be tricky and time consuming to install sometimes.

I bought one for my iPod touch when I first got it (well, my sister got it for me as a gift actually) and I never used it... What do you guys feel the shields end up protecting your device from? I have a simple silicone sleeve on my iPod and it's gone thru a couple of mild drops w/o a scratch; the more severe ones always happened while it was inside a lil' neoprene case which seems to absorb shock really well, I slip it into that when I'm gonna throw it in my carry-on or whatever... Other than that I put it face up wherever and keep it by itself in my pocket and I haven't had any issues.

I usually keep my phone and keys in the same pocket, either in my pants or in a backpack that I have on me. I was afraid that my keys, or anything else, would scratch the phone, thus I purchased an Invisibleshield. It's been a charm thus far, except it's starting to peel in 1 corner, which means that I'm probably going to have to warranty this bad boy... ugh. I'm happy with the product, I just wished I took more care in applying it so that I wouldn't have this problem. It's been almost 10 months now that I've had it on my phone.

I guess that would be a good one. I usually keep my gadgets in compartments in my bag tho so getting jingled with coins or keys is kinda unlikely. I tend to prefer silicon cases over those full body laminates and wallet like things since i'm more concerned with impacts.

For the screen protectors. Every time i get a gadget with an LCD screen, i just go to the mall and have them put one on it for me. If it doesn't fit, they're much more skilled with cutters than i am.

I really don't get the obsession with online shopping when it's actually faster just walking into the mall on your way home.

I'm in college with no car so it's a lot easier for me to buy things online instead of spending an hour each way on the bus.

ZAGG invisible shield covers my iPhone3G.

I hope they (or BSE) will have models for whatever laptop I purchase soon, and/or the Nokia N900.

How long does it take for your package to arrive?

Yeah it takes time to deliver but so what? Let's compare how long it takes to deliver, to how long I'd have to wait if I waited until my next trip downtown. Hmm, 3 days vs 3 months. On top of this, I can spend two minutes clicking through a check-out page online or I can spend two hours on a bus to go pick one up and end up paying merely in bus fare what I'd pay for two screen protectors shipped online.

BTW I found this seller online, http://shop.ebay.com/t.j.r./m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=. They use Venture Shield material and there's supposedly no orange peel effect. I'll be ordering some soon.

More like 3 days vs 1 hour to get the screen protector on your phone. Less than that if you go to a kiosk instead of the mall.

Guess cellphones really aren't very popular outside of asia afterall. No matter where you are, there's always a cluster of cellphone related stores within 20 minutes. The idea of resorting to fedex for a screen protector is like asking them to deliver you a can of coke

If this intrigues you so much, start your own thread in genmay. This thread is about screen protectors, not about some rant against online shopping.

Zagg, BSE, and BodyGuardz is all made of the same stuff. It's all just 3M Paint Protection Film:
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/Scotchgard-PPF/Home/

Which can be purchased in sheets, here:
http://www.invisiblemask.com/bulkfilm.html

It's the 8mil, and works with touch screen phones. To apply it, just mix a little water with a drop of dish soap (you can follow BSE's directions on their website).

The only con of this is that you would have to cut it to fit the screen. This might not be that big of a deal to some of you. You could probably just stencil one out.

From personal experience, this material is by far the best screen protection method I've ever used. It's very easy to install. It's the easiest one to get rid of bubbles, wrinkles, and hairs. If you mess up the first time, you can pull it up within a few minutes. They're very scratch resistant.

I would definitely recommend Best Skins Ever for all of your screen protector needs. I have had my Zen Vision: M covered for 2 years and it is a little linty around the corners (I *could* clean it up but i dont feel like) but has no scratches. I just covered my iPhone and it too is scratchless (I managed to put a small dent in the screen because I put it in my pocket with my retainer, but I can just remove the screen and replace it)

I wasn't a fan of the ZAGG shield...it was far too pricey for me and I didn't like the way it looked.

This is what I use: http://www.powersupportusa.com/product/show/crystal-film-for-iphone-3g
It's fantastic. I used the anti-glare protector they make for a while but like the crystal film better.

The same thing is in this: http://www.fullbodyfilms.com/The_Protection_Pack.html
I liked it pretty well, but and it's inexpensive. I just picked up the two pack of crystal screen protectors after I took the first one off, because I decided not to use the body film and didn't want to pay for it.

I make my own with a factory machine that is designed to cut the premium stuff intended for automobiles. Takes a few minutes to make a pattern, but well worth it. Scratch proof and fits like a glove.

EDIT: And it doesn't cost me a dime, since we easily have enough small scrap to do 1,000 phones that normally gets thrown away.
