Gran Turismo

If you're talking about the announcement today that nearly 4 million copies of GT5p have been sold worldwide, then yes. That's a hell of an accomplishment for a 'demo'.

A demo I've spent nearly $700CDN to play. :D

PS3+G25+GT5p = ~$700CDN.

Of course, there are other uses for the PS3 and G25. :p

GT5 release date announcement is imminent. :D

Amar from GT Planet said we're getting new info in a couple hours at Gamescom.

Big news in GT5 today. The news feed on GTPlanet has everything you want to know about GT5.

Well, maybe not everything you want to know.

The way I understand it, I could be wrong, is that 170 cars have been modelled specifically for GT5 and will have damage represented on the interiors of the cars as well as the exteriors. The other 800 or so have been upgraded from GT4 and will still take 'damage', but the interiors (maybe exteriors too) wont show that damage or there wont be interiors for those cars at all.

I don't really know. I'm still thinking there's more information incoming.

Could this be the game that will put teh PS3 on par with the 360 and wii? i know people liek madduck who are willing to buy a ps3 just for this game and if this legit and true then WOW.:o_O1::o_O1::bowdown::bowdown:

Yeah, I think I'm going to wait for a proper translation. There seems to be a lot of confusion on the various forums as to what the hell is going on. lol.

Shouldn't take long hopefully.

Anyway you slice it, good day for GT5 news.

That fabled release date hasn't been mentioned yet though... :D

u serious ?

The translation is confusing.
I find it hard to believe all of the cars in GT5:p had interiors and yet they've barely doubled that for the full game ?

I never expected all of the cars to have damage. Maybe tjust he premium racing cars will have "realistic" physics with full deformation, driveshaft pole vaults and spectacular explosions. (NASCAR, WRC, Super GT etc..) That would be awesome to see a rolled car leaking gas and then blowing up. :D

Hah, explosions would be pretty nuts. Should be interesting to see what they've done with the race car damage as I'm sure you could smush them up pretty good.

IF that translation is accurate, this would be a major let down :(. What have they been working on?

I can't see the let down. All news sounds positive to me.

Care to elaborate on your interpretation of the 1000/170/830 conundrum? That's the only confusing part of the news release.

As for the 'what have they been working on?' question... ummm, Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo PSP. Are you new? ;)

Carry over cars from GT4, and not all cars having physical damage. IF true, that just doesn't make sense. Why would you be in a race, online or offline, and see some cars that are damaged, and some that are not.

You may not be able to see the let down, but I do....IF the translation is accurate.

You're going off of the least optimistic of the flawed translations. Your potential disappointment is as warranted as my marked enthusiasm, in all reality.

I'll wait for the king's english before bunching my panties or believing the most positive interpretation.

I've read several of these 'translations'. Different interpretations for different levels of GT fan. ;)

The GT5.jp site took the whole thing down.

I guess word got back to them on the confusion. Gamescom is still going on, right ?

Hopefully GT5 will get its own presentation. They need to clear the air. Looking at the website, tommorow is an exlusive day for the press and industry professionals. The masses can play on Thurs.

This game is going to be ridiculously amazing, I seriously can't wait.
Oh, btw, there is REAL TIME HEAD TRACKING with the Eye for cockpit view.... how awesome is that?

I don't know how anyone can say Forza is going to be better when comparing the games from a non-bias feature to feature break down. It's a bit laughable and an insult to PD with all their pioneering in the racing sim genre.

Damage modelling seems good on the race car, though (IMO) the door comes off a little too easily. Seems like we've finally got confirmation that non race cars don't have damage though. Unless it's got something to do with the fact that it's an AI car. Hard to tell in this case.

There is no way this game is going to live up to the hype. There is too much hype surrounding this game!

That's based on the pulled info from yesterday. Not sure it's any more reliable than the other translations to be honest.

no shit really?
more sources the better...

but since you know ALL about forza and gt5, guess i should just let you do all the posting to info.

From everything I have read so far, only select cars have damage. That is lame as heck. I am buying it anyway.

What the hell is your problem?

I was simply clarifying the situation just in case you / others weren't aware of the confusion. Why so defensive?

I haven't read much since yesterday but I was getting the impression that all cars had damage but only a few had interior damage. All I heard out of Sony was that it had damage.

Of course it won't live up to the hype because it is internet created hype. People hear one thing about the game, add their wishlist to it and the next thing you know people start spreading it as rumors.

link doesnt show anything about GT5

The next detail Kazunori touched on was regarding damage models. I can confirm that not every car in Gran Turismo 5 will sport damage models -- it will only be select sets. However, Kazunori has yet to decide on a finalized list of featured car types for damage support.

Lastly, it sounds like Porsche will not make it into Gran Turismo 5. As disappointing as this was for Kazunori, Porsche signed an exclusive arrangement elsewhere and will probably not be included. It looks like Porsche fans will have to wait.

fucksakes. no porche
