How Many IM Clients do run?

I have two, Trillian Astra and Steam, but I've never actually used Steam's IM client.

AIM lite, Skype, xfire, Google Talk, MSN, Yahoo Messenger

Yep I'm putting 4 gigs of RAM to use!

Just gave up all desktop clients. Meebo FTW.

I like Meebo, too, but you can't do file transfers unless the other person is also using Meebo. Means a no-go for me. :(

Digsby file transfers work fine for me. I wish group convos were easier (they seriously need to get that implemented) but I can deal with it for now.

I used to use Trillian for AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and IRC, but it's just such a fat head. So...digsby? Guess I'll give it a shot.

Edit: Bah, Digs don't do IRC. :(

Pidgin just felt dirty...Digsby's so full of win, it's spectacular. Maybe I'll try this FF add on you speak of.

I run Adium on OS X, but honestly I haven't used an IM client in a few years (rather, ever since I graduated from high school).

The Digsby scare is old, and every version thereafter did not have the option enabled by default. Digsby is a fine program.

When I installed Digsby, it asked the typical questions about changing my home page, something else, and then whether or not I wanted it to do some DC. I thought it was weird, but cool that they asked me. That was it.

The only way Digsby would ever get back on my PC would be by open sourcing it. I see no reason to give them a second chance when there are plenty of other IM projects, open and closed source that haven't screwed with people.

I'm sure they miss you.

I'm sure they miss you.

I'm sure I'm not the only one. Sometimes you vote with your wallet, sometime you vote with being a user, in this case I'm not going to be a user, and going to recommend anyone who asks to steer clear. Doing nothing because you think "they won't miss you" is kinda lame, that's like not voting because your only one vote.

Since it's free, and the controversial option is not enabled by default, it makes little difference whether or not you're a user, and whether or not you recommend the program.

"How Many IM Clients do run?"

How many do run? I suggest a Google or Bing search for IM Clients, I suppose they are all running somewhere. That will give you your answer.

I just use Google talk anymore because I do most messaging from my android, and I think the others come out of my package and when I message Russia it gets expensive, but Google talk just comes out of my data which is unlimited.

Alright, Digsby is full of win. And I'm using XChat for IRC. Both reconnect automatically after sleeping the pc.

I changed XChat to have black background w/ white text and am using this quick and non annoying sound byte for message in channel.[/url]

I've been very happy w/ this setup.

Pidgin, Steam, Skype and palringo. I use meebo when on other people's computers.
