i love quick time event... but i hope there is more to this game!
I'm not a fan of quicktime events because in the past they were simply Pass/Fail. In this game it seems that even if you miss a quicktime event you have a chance to make up for it later, like this video shows. He still gets to fight on with the badguy after missing one press.
OK, the acting is not the best, but considering the entire game is voice acting and likely motion captured, it probably has the most in any game ever made: Quality vs Quantity's fine line. Secondly, graphically, the game still looks incredible. What video where you watching? /sarcasm off Those characters look real and they move like real people. And lastly, sure there are a lot of quick time events but in other games your constantly pressing buttons, this is going to be a nice change of pace.Game has fallen of my radar, and others. The quality of everything (graphics, physics and animations) have dropped from the original trailer substantially. And talk about QTE overkill.
And I have seen better acting on Saved By The Bell. WTF were they thinking?
Not everyone has the patients for adventure games.
This game looks as exciting as alan wake to me...which is to say not at all. A game made of bad dialogue and QTE's? It's like someone decided to make a frankenstein of my biggest game pet peeves.
Does not impress me at all.
Do Quick Time Events make ramping the graphics up in games easier?
From what I'm familiar with, QTEs lock the camera and possible animations. Considering that, I wonder where the line between in-game video gameplay and button-mashing cutscenes exist.
QTEs usually confine the player's actions, which is a different ballgame than games that allow freedom for the player. And to compare graphics from a game like that to one with different rulesets seems to be a bit unfair.
Basically, I wonder in relation to the rendering and game engine, how are QTEs different from cutscenes? How are QTEs different than sandbox games (like GTA or anything that allows freedom)?

I'm really glad it's a PS3 exclusive.
I'm curious why that would make you glad. Why would console exclusivity of any game make someone happy? It's just such a wierd comment.
so why not ask the same question over on teh xbxo 360 forums?
...what? I should ask on the xbox 360 forums (which ones??) why Zamardi is glad that Heavy Rain is PS3 exclusive?
You're being twice as incoherent as you usually are, and that's impressive.
No, why do xbox 360 fans are glad that gears of war, halo etc etc are glad its a 360 exclusive.
