9600GSO?

Don't buy it. Get one of the 92sp 9600gso. You can often grab them for under 60 bucks on FS/FT.

I'll admit though, 50 a/r with COD:WAW (sell for 20-30) ends up being one hell of a bargain, but for a very mediocre card.

EDIT: Also I don't like putting $95 down. MIRs are always iffy.

I just want something around the performance of a HD4670. I don't really play very demanding games. So a $50-75 video card is ideal for me.

Not the 9600GSO512 with 48 stream processors and 57.6GB/s memory bandwidth.

LOL, the 9600GT is still the best card with 64 stream processors and 57.6GB/s memory bandwidth. :p

EDIT: Is it possible to softmod it to an 8800? Or would I need the 384MB version for that trick to work?

How much better is the 9600GT vs the 9600GSO (96sp)? Also if I was completely satisfied with the HD4670, this GSO should be fine right?

No, it can't be softmodded as far as I'm aware b/c the 8800GT has 112 stream processors.

The reason the 9600GT beats the 9600GSO is b/c it has more memory (512 vs 384) and faster memory bandwidth (57.6GB/s vs 38.4GB/s).

Even though the 9600GSO has a better GPU, the large decrease in it's memory bandwidth becomes a bottleneck.

It's still a good card though and is superior to the 9600GSO512 with only 48 stream processors.

Oh, if you were happy with that card before, the 9600GSO should be more than enough. :)
 
I'd avoid the 9600GSO and get a cheap second hand 8800GT for the same price.
