[H]ot - eVGA GTX260 SC - $179.99

Mine is still "currently being processed" as well. I guess I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what's up.

Get your own thread! Your scaring all the electronica direct customers you bastards.

lol, how could they refund something if they didn't charge anything in the first place? It was a temp authorization, and it automatically fell off since they didn't charge it yet.

Ah, is that all it was. I saw the pending charge. I assumed it has gone through since others mentioned there's went through too. Now it was gone and the money back. So I assumed the worst.

Sorry for the false alarm then if this is normal.

I ordered from Amazon at 9:30am MT. But as TehQuick pointed out, maybe I just made a fool of myself if nobody has been charged yet. I thought they had.

The usual practice among online retailers is that you are charged only when the product is actually shipped - although some do not adhere to that, ED is prolly among the former rather than latter.

Okay, so what happens if you use Google Checkout and they cancel your order? Google Checkout says my CC has already been charged...

Because I'm an idiot, I ordered the BFG card. Waiting on a cancellation but I'm hoping against that. *sigh*

WTF is going on with these crazy prices? Are they that desperate for page hits?

So are these evga cards eligible for step up? Do I just have to register with the evga store site after I get my card?

They probably are, but you gotta pay the difference between what you paid on your invoice and the retail price of your step up card. Which doesn't really make sense...

Wow, ED is epic fail. Thenerds folks have already gotten tracking numbers with "out for delivery" status.

All I've gotten is the processing message and a $188 charge on my Amex.

Looking for EVGA video cards on their site shows a GTX280, but no listing for any 260s. I'm still showing that 'processing' message using the order number.

Someone called them at anadtech and received the following:
"Ok, well, I just got off the phone with a nice lady from their customer support, and was told that they 'had an inventory problem, where the part was oversold' and that I would receive an update (presumably via email) 'within an hour' which would include information regarding the resolution to the issue and details as to when the part would ship. It didn't sound very dire, but I've been wrong before.

Since yesterday morning, my order has been: 'Your order is currently being processed. We will email you with the status of your order.'

I have received no further communications as of yet. "

Hopefull the resolutions is not "We can no longer order this product for 177.88, but we can offer the part to you for 275.00. Please contact us if you want to proceed with this order at the new price. If no contact is made we will cancel your order"
Mistakes happen but if it took 2-3 days to come to this point that's pretty lame especially when the nerds.net offered the price yesterday and already started shipping them out.
Oh well, you win some and loose some.

Again compuplus - the thread is about Electronica Direct orders, not compuplus.

But Specialist[X] is right... At your order status screen:
"Your order is currently being processed. We will email you with the status of your order. If you have any questions, please email customer service."

"customer service" is a link to: mailto:[email protected]

Seems odd that if it was an inventory problem and they sold too many. Why haven't the ones they do have not shipped out? It doesn't sound like anyone has gotten notice that their card shipped. I put my order in pretty early, about 4 hours before it went out of stock. So I would imagine mine would not be part of the oversold orders. But nothing here either. *shrug*

I'm not upset about the delay by itself. For the price I could easily wait a few days. I'm just getting worried about cancellations.

Just got this:
"Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your recent order with our company for the EVGA896P31262AR video card.

We sincerely regret to inform you that we will be unable to supply you with this card at the current time. We have oversold our available inventory and unfortunately EVGA is out of stock on this piece. It is an end of life product for them.

Due to an error on the manufacturer and distribution level the product sold at an unanticipated rate. We have attempted for the past few days to source the product but were not successful. We have therefore canceled your order, and if there were any charges, we have refunded your credit card account.

We hope to continue to be your source for electronics and computer needs as we have been faithfully over the past many years.

Thank you,
Becky G. "

I called them myself to see what was going on and they told me the following.

-They oversold the product and I was on the "oversold" list.
-I would be receiving an e-mail within the hour to let me know the resolution.
-They were trying to obtain the product.

To be honest the outcome doesn't seem good. I don't mean to be a pessimist however the chances of them being able to obtain the product at that price point seems pretty slim to me. Good luck to everyone. Hopefully some of us will make out.

Here is my status now

Ok, I've pretty much had it with ED. I'll never buy from there again.

I called in and it's a similar story:

They oversold and are trying to source the product. They don't have any (or enough) units in their warehouse. They're working with eVGA to get enough cards (which I doubt eVGA will honor).

There's still a chance for some of us but at this point I'm not holding my breath. In fact, I wish I went with the nerds.

Fucking ED.

same here.
My order was placed at 12:55pm EST and received the same cancellation email. I doubt anyone will get one as they probably had no inventory. Odd that nerds was able to received and ship the same day.
I was guessing maybe at fault at the distributer (may still be) but still I don't understand how nerds was able to pull it off if so.

well, I gotta admit I'm somewhat relieved. I never expected this to go through, although I did hope for it :) In any case, in a couple of weeks a new version of gtx260 is going to come out and we would've been kickign ourselves for buying another "8800gts 640" just before "8800gts 512" came out ;)

Except that at the price point the GTX260 deals are at one can't really complain...
