Hello,
I've been lurking here for a good part of 6 months, researching what's the best monitor to replace my aging CRT. I've read many posts about BenQ's monitors and am leaning towards getting one, even though they lack the traditional brick and mortar sales that I prefer when purchasing items that cost half a grand. The only thing holding me back was their pixel policy. Many posts here are of the type "I believe you can send the monitor back if there is one bad pixel - but you might want to check on it". I havent seen anyone reply to this challenge, though perhaps I missed those replies.
I have called BenQ in the past to check on it myself but never received a call back. Today I finally got a human who told me what the policy is and it's not great. What he told me is that the monitor needs **either** of the following before it can be sent back:
3 bad pixels within any square inch
7 bad pixels total
I asked him if these conditions hold even within the first 30 days (I was looking at a BenQ page that said returns can be made within 30 days) and he replied "Yes".
So there you have it. There is, of course, the chance the employee was giving me wrong information.
Perhaps if someone has had an alternative experience with returning a BenQ monitor he/she could share. I love the specs, I love the praise BenQs get, I dont like that I cant see one in a store first, and I definitely dont love that pixel policy.
