Retired ~2 years ago. Served me well, except for the goddamn Antec PSUs.

Athlon 64 3500+ (no OC, motherboard was horrible)
ThermalTake SilentWater kit (better than stock at least...)
Gigabyte GA-K8U-939
Sapphire Radeon X800XT AGP (running PE speeds under an Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer)
Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Music (early full-height full hardware version)

(Yes, the combination radiator/pump/reservoir thing is zip-tied to the back of the case... only one of the fan mounting holes matched up. ;))

my first was a 33mhz 2mb ram tandy floor model from radio shack.
I crashed it the first weekend I had it tinkering with the files in the windows directory :)
my step-father had to take it back to radio shack for them to reinstall windows, the dude looked at me and said "don't ever do whatever you did again" :D
fondest memory from this machine would be wolfenstien 3d, and doom

my second was an IBM 133mhz w/ MMX 128mb EDO from best buy
fondest memory from this machine would be the discovery of online multiplayer FPSers
TF classic FTW!!

here's my PII, it current does what it's best at....collecting dust in the closet

Ya dudes, rigs that are like 4 weeks old dont really belong in this thread. lol

The title should be changed to "Your old rig [at least number of years]"

This could be an 'old computer', 'cus it is an old case and motherboard (I got replacements):

I wish I could find some pictures of my old Micron 386 (first computer, I owned) and some of the other older machines I've had, but I never really took any pictures before I got digital cameras, always considered it to big of a pain in the ars.

haha, dude, is that a seagate 40g hard drive?

my computer that i posted on the last page, came with that in 2000, and i STILL use it. its never failed, and its been reformatted like 100 times. lol

The case is long gone but it did have a [H] blow hole on the top. And it still runs.

Wow the memories. I had almost forgotten, but I had an old Packard Bell Pentium computer with a Voodoo II. Looked for it in storage yesterday, but only the motherboard remains, so when I pulled off the heatsink to rescue the Pentium for a chuckle, I got a LOL instead:

Talking about old CPUs... One of my older CPUs:

The thing that started Intel's headaches. :p

----
I don't have any older systems to post. I have long ago trashed, given away or sold any case and motherboard older than 2 years. :(

Is that a fuzzy wristpad in front of the keyboard?

I pulled these two out of my "storage pile" this afternoon to mess with and see if I wanted to do anything with em or get rid of em.

One on the left is 1GHz Celly with 1GB RAM currently running Ubuntu one on the right is 700MHz Celly with 192mb of RAM running winXP

And my "server" in the basement Abit IC7-G, P4 2.4C, 1GB RAM and 1.04TB storage

A Cyrix?

Nah man, you lose.

Lol j/k! I had an AMD K6 with "3D Now" technology....

So I feel your pain!

*nods

EDIT: 1990, what series CPU is that? 286ish??

The Cyrix chip is the math coprocessor for the AMD 286 12MHz cpu below it. I have the computer in my closet collecting dust except for once in a blue moon when I hook it up to relive old memories :)

This is while I was tuning my 2nd computer, after an upgrade from a P3-500MHz (@700MHz!) on a Soyo 'board, to a 2500+Barton on an NF7-S v2. This is the original $30 case from Fry's (with 250W free PSU!).

I am still using this desk - bought circa 2001.

Pics are circa 2000. I remember being so proud of my box and the fact that it's cheap AMD K6/2 500 and Voodoo3 3000 worked so well. I did the painting under a blacklight to ensure even coverage of the primer and fluorescent paint coats (There were 4 coats of each +2 clear coats!) I still have the case, but even after upgrading the chip to a K6-3+ 450 later I don't use it hardly at all. I keep it mainly for sentimental reasons.

My bulletproof Thinkpad 700c. Still works. Still boots faster than anything else. Still is a better typing experience than any other keyboard I own. I still use it for long typing sessions.

Top job on that case! Very nice work and 8.1 years but still a noobie??
Thank you, I'm usually found posting on Ars' OpenForum and elsewhere. I just happened to be going through my tech bookmarks and wanted to see if my forum account was still around since I hadn't logged on in over four years. Maybe I'll hang around for awhile...lurk...post...whatever...
