Anyone know anything about this card? Specifically what the Core & Memory clocks are?
I've been looking to replace my 7900GS with an 8800GT and Newegg just got this one in....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814134035

Neither newegg or the manufacturer's product homepage lists what the core clock or memory clock is. I thought it was a pretty good price since it includes the Accelero.

Only a one year warranty though. :(

I would avoid anything that says ECS like the plague. Even beyond the fancy cooler, that card has a non-reference design, which means that most likely ECS manufactured it, and they've been known to use the cheapest parts possible to keep costs down. Maybe I'm wayyyy off base and they're turning over a new leaf, but I kind of doubt it. Before even thinking of buying it, I would wait for any reviews, especially concerning the capacitors they use on that thing.

well consdiering they are including the exact same heatsink that is reviewd in the link above i would probaly think its a good change from the reference.

This card comes with a good silent heatsink solution i dont see the problem granted i dont know what ecs warranty service is like.

Considering that the "ramsink" spot you're referring to is in actualy NOT a vram chip... then sure, i guess it's funny? Fail. Nice try though ;)

What? You mean 9x64 doesnt = 512?

Nice catch.

Doesn't change the fact that ECS is cheap crap.

Dont knock it til someone else has tried it..:D

Oh wait...i did have an ECS 650i motherboard for less than 2 weeks before i sold it...

Good cooling doesnt make up for POS components.

The board looks pretty reference to me. Had it been a galaxy like aftermarket 2-phase Pwr connector, then I'd be more intrigued. The fact that it's also been reviewed and shown to have Qimonda ram is negative.

I hate ECS mobo's as much as the next guy, but I think this video card might live up to the specs of a mild overclock. Great price for the s1/fan combo. I prefer my eVga with samsung vram though ;)

Don't write off the ECS. For one thing, your original claim was wrong:

On nVidia-chipset video cards, it's a 3-year warranty on parts, and 2-year on parts/labor. Most problems are caused by parts going bad, so consider it a three year warranty.

That said, they were very helpful when my P35T wouldn't work properly. I ended up not needing to ship it to them, but their online support at least was very well handled.

where is this particular card reviewed?

I wouldn't rule out ECS just yet, they deserve credit for taking the risks and having the balls to release an 8800GT w/ a good cooler, can that be said about EVGA or XFX? I also recall alot of people smack talking EVGA and XFX when they were barely noticeable....Learn to let go of the brand-fanboyism. That card has an S1 $22 cooler and the $10 dual-fan add-on, it's essentially $224 for the video card, and $32 for the aftermarket cooler....Why is this a bad thing?

I think ecs has the terrible name because alot of large stores have contracts with them to get shitty boards.. they actually want the cheapest board possible ( ie: frys ) so that gives them a terrible name.

I personally have had great exp with ECS for about 5-7 years now. I do not get ECS if I want to OC or get high performane.. instead I buy it for internet/burning media/porn/mid-level gaming.

I may get one of these just to support them for giving such great deals on the combos that I have bought over the past 5-7 years.

There is one thing that I HATE about ecs.. if you put the driver cd for a new board in after installed Win XP X64 it says "This OS is not support" I wish they would atleast put that shit on there right. Its quite annoying.

EDIT: I am going to order one right now lol... I dont do the OC and stuff but I would be glad to say if it gets me good FPS in my E2200 ECS 945GCT-m/1333 Combo!

Well said.

You know what they say about opinions and assholes, everybody has one. I always get a real kick out of the anti-ECS zealots because most of them don't realize that more than half of the 'name brand' motherboards they have sworn by are designed and sometimes all out manufactured by ECS under contract.

That board is the exact reference design for the 8800GT right down to the components used. Sorry Mario, the princess is in another castle.

Pretty good price for already having an arctic cooling HS on it.
