Is this powerful enough?

That was some pretty poor testing (not to mention extremely dangerous and stupid). They didn't show efficiency or power output, they just said they were able to get more wattage without posting the results. Seems kind of fishy. Plus, that article is nearly 3 years old and PSUs. ;)

Personally, I would rather go with a Corsair 520HX than that thing

I don't really have a choice it's been in my rig through about 2 years of upgrades, and I really can't afford to get a new one. I just want to make sure so when I power on, nothing goes wrong.

That all was my 16th birthday present.

I can afford it but would the one I'm using now suffice until I can order my new one?

Ha yeah:

We ended up with 3.47v, 5.6v, and 12.74 before we got a little timid with a metal screwdriver inside a running power supply. We were able to get another 25Mhz out of our system, and even more stability under load to the point that there was only a 2Mhz difference between our benchmarking overclock, and the daily setting.

Brilliant! Specs be damned!

Its a good thing very few PSU's have pots people can tinker with these days since usually people one step worse it and watch the votlages in speedfan.

No. It only has 23A on the +12V rail. IIRC, the Q6600 and 8800GT take up about 25A on the +12V rail.

EDIT: Found the link where Mike Clements of Corsair Tech Support mentions how much power a Q6600 and 8800GT combo will take (6th post down):

Hopefully in the two days since you posted you haven't tried running that PSU with your setup.
