paypal is pretty much useless. called credit card company talked to disputes and explained to him what happened (5 minute call max), charge refunded and report forwarded to investigations. awesome!
not so lucky to me.. i will never use bank transfer for big transactions...
Your bank should be able to do chargebacks too.

He claimed he is sending me a refund for my $70 in a money order, sending through Fedex with Signature Confirmation.
I just got off the phone with his mother,
She gathered up the mac mini stuff, and stated she was going to ship it out to me priority tomorrow, she said that she's working to ship back anyones stuff.
She confirmed that Chris is still in jail as well.
And yes, I know to file a police report, but since his call I've been out visiting relatives, having only gotten back yesterday.

Also, he asked me to post in here for everyone dealing with this to email him. He claims he is trying to get addresses and names collected to refund people. Who know if he's serious but it can't hurt.
Im not asking you to cut him ANY slack. Everyone keep up pursuing it until it is resolved just as you are right now, but also contact him just incase he did come to him senses and does send refunds/items.
Why should anyone cut him any slack now just cuz he's provided an email address.

i can understand that you think, you personally have the right to call and ask for your items back but really, as a whole i i feel sorry for the mother who is forced to gather up all your geeky items and ship it out.
Her son is in jail and had nothing to do with anyone transactions and i just can't imagine how many calls she gets ppl asking her for random things that she probably doesn't even know what they are.

WAT THE HELL.. how come only 10 people filed?? I just want to let the ppl who didnt file reports know that they are extrememly selfish for not filing reports not because they wont get their moneh back but also affect other victims as well.... I posted as strongly as I could that this case invoves a large number of misdemeanors, not a single felony, and if Chris's victims did not act in their own behalf, there is nothing the Sheriff's Department can do. Chris Chartier will still face whatever other charges they have on him, but it breaks my heart to know he will probably get away with what he has done to our members and members of [H].
I will leave this thread stickied for a couple more days and hope that 30 - 40 of his victims will file a sudden flood of reports with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, but even then, I don't know if they will do anything.
