I am finding my i/o Controler hub (ich) temperture geting over 90c is this ok ? I allso put my house fan on it made go down to 55c

That's a little hot. Is the heatsink hot to the touch when it says it's 90C? I'd probably just grab a smaller 60mm fan or so to mount on the heatsink rather than keeping the case open with a box fan.

i know i will look stupid.

but does that 60 fan blow or suck air from the heat sink ?

I would probably blow it down on the heatsink. Really depends on what kind of heatsink though and the orientation of it.

I'd check to make sure the heat sink is on correctly. I don't know about Intel's but the socket A heat sinks have a step on one side to clear a raised portion on the motherboard socket. If you put it on reversed (back wards) it ends up slightly tilted and doesn't make good contact with the CPU. I had a processor run at 90c, which was its rated max temp. Turned out to be a faulty motherboard, same processor ran fine at much lower temps in another motherboard. I'm posting this from that system. :D
