i put a tuniq tower 120 on yesterday with some arctic silver 5 thermal paste. right now im idling 35 celsius. my room gets really hot. like its almost 32 celsius. is this a correct temperature for that cooler or should it be lower? because my stock cooler kept my e6300 at like 40 celsius. Also is it safe to overclock with temps like that or should I try to get them lower before I do that. and how could I get them lower without watercooling the thing

35 is fine. a 3 degree delta between ambient and core temperature is actually really good, and it's more than good enough to overclock with.

Before you overclock though, check your load temps with Orthos. You'll see a bigger difference between stock and the Tuniq in load temperatures than you will in idle temperatures.

ok. so those temps are normal for my room? and when i overclock if im at around 3 ghz what should I idle at?

Hiya,
Actually no, they are excellent for your room ! You are cooling with room air, you cant get any lower than the room air temp, after all thats what you are blowing on the HS. You done good.

Idle doesnt matter, its load, what is reporting above temps ? download and install coretemp if you have not already.

With CoreTemp, anything below 75 is good!

Playing it safe?

Keep it below 65 or so

You got more room to go...
