Its almost embarrassing... but I have a pair of cheap Genius HS-04A.
I like em... sound good, have a volume control and certainly the mic is way better than the standalone $1 one I used to have.

After them, come my pride and joy amp. Took a lot of effort to get this guy, and I love it. Don't mind the ding, USPS fault... looking to work that out right now. Also pardon the shitty pics, it lighting is quite right where it is, and I am not moving it for better pictures.

How much of a difference did the recable make? Other tha making that stock cable easier to deal with.
I'm loving the sound of mine bone stock but I wouldnt mind a shorter cable on them.

It was quite noticeable. It made them warmer, and really just sort of opened them up. They were very good before, but the wire certainly helps bring them up to speed.
 
I'm thinking about just picking up another one of those turtle shell cable organizers.

It worked great with my a900s.

I wish my kitten was scared of my HD580's! I caught her playing w/ and biting my Cardas cable!
 
I bought mine used, and the guy before me had bought them. I think if you call Sennheiser you can get them.
 
ah...nice hd580's what amp you using to drive it?


im drooling over the 580 jubilee's right now, thinking about pulling the trigger on the deal

Yup, call. But to not sound like a twit... look up the part number first. If they think you are buying them for a HD580, they may not sell them to you (has happened in the past). I used to have them written down, but not anymore. Search Head-Fi... you'll find it.

I was using a LDII+ until yesterday when my SinglePower PPX3 got here :D I'm also going to make a Millet Max later this summer.

Once I move and finish my audio rack (building a new one) I'll post a picture of my entire setup.

How does the PPX3 compare to the LDII?
 
i just received a set of e500s and put together my lanyard today... timing was great.

this is my third go at a custom lanyard. the first one i sold to a coworker for $20 and the second one was stolen along with my e2c's and my 8gig nano at work.

the whole deal. i listen to music at work for the first five hours every day so it needed to be comfortable and portable. so far this setup looks to fill that need.

i hope the indiviual who hijacked my last nano enjoys my full name lasered on the back:

nice setup.....that sucks that someone made off with your stuff! Where do you work that you can listen to music for the 1st 5 hours? Just curious.
 
thanks man... i work at target. i set planograms (product and fixture layouts) going in at 4am till 8am when the store opens, then lunch for an hour. approaching 1pm i go home, fart around till 11 or so then off to bed.

i work my but off take my slave wages and spend it on stuff... vicious cycle.

I just can't stop listening to the damn things. It's an extremely engaging sound. This bass owns your soul! :D
 
Where did you managed to snag them? They sound phenomenal, I had the pleasure of sampling them just last week. Enjoy them :).
 
Wow, I'm actually very surprised at how popular the AudioTechnica L3000 are. I was never very impressed by their sound.....
(Maybe too grado like for my tastes)

thats a really good idea....i should try it out. I work tech support for the local school district and i spend about 7 of the 8 hours of the day by myself in a lab somewhere. The apple buds just dont cut it anymore.
 
intresting how the e5's split right at the adaptor...my e4g's split in the middle
how long is that cable?
 
for casual listening i dont think i would get higher end earphones but for the amount of time im listening i needed something good.

its about the same distance as the e4c's split. this is how i measured the length for the lanyard i made. i needed it to match the split so that there is no slack. it worked perfect.

this is the connector i used. it is the Apple usb/firewire cable. this thing is getting scarce so i cant goof the lanyard up. i use this cable because it has two holes with a stress relief in each. i think it looks like it came from Apple this way, which is what i was shooting for. funny how people don believe i made these after asking where i bought them.
