Jack Thompson Threatens Microsoft

I wish I could be as eloquent as my friend, Mr. Tango here... but I can't. Because this whole thing... it... it FUCKING SUCKS!

If this bastards spent half as much time worrying about policing drugs instead of video games... he could have saved some lives by now. Asshole...
 
People like Jack Thompson are publicity whores. The only way this could blow up in his face is if nothing happens and he gets no media coverage. Even if he gets countersued for $Millions$, the publicity would be worth it for him. He honestly believes that he is right, and if enough Americans see what is in these games, he will be granted the title of censorship czar. Then he can finally wipe his A$$ with the constitution (his ultimate goal!).

Fortunately, he is insane and has no idea what he is talking about. I would give anything to see the look on his face when he finally realizes this:D

Mr Gates has about 100 layers of people to deal with crap like this, If he even heard about it, it was from some news channel, by accident. Someone in one of those layers called over to legal and woke up a couple of dozen lawers that had been napping waiting for the next Justice Dept or EU trades probe and said " If this becomes annoying, make it go away".

To make my final point.. although my points are rather sketchy and dont really make sense. This guy is like an annoying shit fly that wont go away.

as i recall he did try to go after rockstar/take2. but they gave him a firm legal thrashing. i read about where he mouthed off about bully how it was about being a bully and beating the crap out of kids, etc. take2 sat there and said nothing....then it got released and was nothing like what he was saying lol.
 
yea, i was talking to my roommate the other day about this. People like him exist because there are a bunch of lousy parents and the need something to blame for their kids for being horrible. Easiest targets are music and video games, he is one of the people who thrives on video games, and blames them for all of society's ills. When there are more than a bunch of different reason, I have played a fair amount of violent games. Some of the more recent ones Postal and Grand Theft Auto, lol but those games havent caused me to run a prostitue over with a car (they are really hard to find here) but i'm going to toast to jack picking the wrong company to sue. Because last time I heard microsoft has like 11 billion in cash reserves, so here's to crushing Mr. Jack sand in my bikini Thompson, lol.

That one's fairly easy. No one likes to be told they're wrong, especially parents of younger children. Just go to any little league game, you'll see what I mean. If he went after parents, he'd be buried alive in hate mail before the week ended.
No one complains when a big fish with the means to help himself is threatened.

Wait, I'm confused... What does Microsoft have to do with retailers not enforcing their own rules?

Retailers aren't allowed to sell a Mature rated game to anyone under 17 years of age.

I fail to see how Microsoft fits into the above statement...

Seriously, I don't know if Bill is that type of person but if he is a badass he would make him pay. I am talking about personally. Crush him financially and professionally. Hell he has enough money to buy everybody around Jack and make him his puppet.

First off, bill gates and microsoft has probably been in more court rooms then jack thompson. Second of all, bill gates and microsoft have been on the plate with not just one country, but an entire continent (europe/EU). Let's see jack dumbson try to do that. Also, Bill gates can drag this on and on with his deep pockets.

Anyways, jack dumbson needs to stop harassing people. I'm sure bill gates has already ordered his super ninjas to assassinate him.
 
It's not the creators responsibility to over see who obtains this material.
It's rating boards, governments, retail outlets, and guardians. Like any other medium in effect.
Ok there is a partial responsibily, but not sole responsibility. Jackie is not a very good politician.

Microsoft should go for declaratory judgment and then keep finding other excuses to Jack until he has no time to work on other cases, has no money left, and has to give up, file bankruptcy, and go on welfare.
