help me choose a card

The 7900gs has to be one of the best deals out there right now

I got the eVGA brand and it's been great. One of Kyles better reviews;)

The 1950 is probably the fastest GPU in that list. 7600GTs are pretty strong too at lower resolutions. 8600GT's are also in your price range, and there are even a few spec clocked 8600GTS's for under $140 now. The 8500GT won't be strong enough for most newer games, and the 1600 series boards may be marginal too. I have the XFX GeForce 7600GT in your 2nd from bottom link in my upstairs PC. It will play games such as Battlefront2 and Supreme Commander with all settings maxed at 1440x900 on a 19" LCD.

For $140 and under I would personally try to find one of the stock clocked 8600GTS boards. Good luck.

i found this 8600gt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121068

looks good to me....how about you guys?

If you want to be underwhelmed, go for it. It is slower than 7600gt and MUCH slower than the 7900gs or x1950pro in dx9. The only thing you would possibly pick that card for is the HD video encoding. DX10 games aren't even out yet and when they start rolling out en masse, you'll want a MUCH better gaming solution than what the 8600gt can offer.

how about this then?

Forgot to ask ... what resolution are you playing at? Nothing in this price range is going to allow you to play new games in high resolutions on "high" settings.
