Welcome to the official [H]ard Forum Freebie thread. The place to get what you need or want for as low as possible ( just pay shipping : )

Everything on this thread can be yours for the price of shipping. You cannot post items you wish to sell here. Only items that you will give away if the recipient pays shipping.

Feel free to post whatever items you have lying around that you just want to get rid of.

Also feel free to post items you are looking for ( nothing that you know you'd have to pay for like a high end video card or CPU ). Do not post for something you want to buy here.

If you wish to take items from anyone on this thread please try to make some sort of contribution to the thread ( not required but would be nice : ). If you have any little odds or ends lying arround that you have no use for and would otherwise toss, please post them here. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

If you would like something out of this thread or have any questions about an item please send a Private Message to the person/s with the item/s you want. Please do not clutter up the thread with multiple replies. Try to keep everything nice and neat.

I have some stuff to give away.....

9x SDRAM between 32mb and 64mb and between pc66-pc100 . None of these sticks have stickers on them anymore.

1x 486 laptop I think it is 50mhz and a 200+mb hdd but it powers up with no video.

3x Compaq V55 monitors 15" work good and come with power cables.

1x Some older Trinitron Dell montior. works good 15"
 
Giving:
I have more ethernet cables and serial cables then I'll ever need. 3 feet and 10 feet straights with boots for the ethernet cables. The serial cables are mixed from male-male to male-female.

Also have 1x oscilloscope probes.

Just pay shipping plus like 50 cents or a dollar per cable depending on how many you need (covers paypal and envelop) Or just pm me and we'll work it out.

Looking for:
Laptop 2.5 harddrive. Could be 5 gigs, could be a gig. If it works I'll take it.
Broken laptops. Any condition. Working is nice too but if it worked, I'd doubt any of you guys would just give it to a(nother) broke college student :D
 
What I have: For anybody that wants to pay shipping I have a Soundblaster 16 SCSI-2 (that's what it says on the box I don't know anything about it). It comes with all the original materials that came inside the box when it was bought (software, manuals, extras, etc.), I got it from an MIT flea market and it said free on the box so I took it. I've never used it, the person that gave it to me said it worked perfectly though, they just didn't want it anymore.

What I Need: A cd-rom drive. Doesn't have to be anything special, doesn't need write capability or really need to be that fast, its for a 7 year old. If you have something nice you willing to give away I won't complain though :) . Also if anybody has any kind of working monitor they're willing to give away, again its for a 7 year old.
 
I have just flashed my dvd burner to use dvd-r discs and would like to swap 3 or 4 8xdvd+r's for 3 or 4 8xdvd-r's. would like to see first if the drive will burn -r's discs since it is only a +r drive.

I need a slot 1 or socket 370 motherboard please. If it is socket 370 it needs to support 1ghz p3 if it's slot 1 then it only needs to support 550mhz p3 . PM me or email at [email protected] . Thanks

Need a power supply, if anyone has a spare. It doens't need to put out many watts, but just power a server (no cards, one HDD). :)

will trade a 10gb ide hdd for some dvd-r's so i can test my drive to see if it will use them.
 
Hey buschman31 vbmenu_register("postmenu_1029878689", true); I will trade you the dvd-r disks you need but do you have and cdrw disks instead? I am going to be trying several versions of linux easier to use rewritable cds for installs.
 
I need a cheap agp 4x8x video card the one I have isn't supported in linux. I would be willing to trade a ati gl2 agp for any working agp video card.

Decent sound card, something like an original SB Audigy or pretty much anything better than an SBLive! 5.1.
1x256MB DDR stick, PC2700 minimum.
Eight BGA RAMsinks.
Decent thermal paste, started tubes are fine.
Thermal adhesive pads(unfortunately not everything has mounting holes :().

I have an APG (4x I think) nVidia TNT2 M64 32 MB that I am willing to trade for your ATI GL2 APG.

To anyone else, I am also looking for an ATI 3D Rage II edition video card. I have a Mech Warrior II Ati 3D Rage Edition video game that I want to play, but I need the 3D Rage II chipset. Will be willing to swap for the video card up above.

Athlon XP 3000+ 333fsb (reaching on this one, but it never hurts to ask)
rambus memory (reaching again, I know)

Hey nice freebies. Do you think with those parts you listed I could actually build a cheap system, because I need a really cheap system that I am going to give to my little cousin (only 8) for school :) So can you try to see if a fully working system is possible from those parts?

Any one have extra static bags laying arround? I have been selling computer parts on Ebay and I ran out of them I need 2X Motherboard size and 6X card size will pay shipping for them thanks
