Hey guys. After hearing the success story of my Gaming PC, my friend says he wants to build a new computer. He currently runs an ancient P4 Optiplex GX620 with 1GB of RAM. He wants to get into gaming just like me after I told him how big of an improvement it will be over consoles.
1) What...
I am considering a 7870 reference card, but idk which one is the best balance between ocing headroom, quietness, and efficient cooling. Anyone know which one is a good balance of all the above? Thanks.
Will HD 3000 Graphics be fine for some games? I am willing to play them on lowered settings until the GTX 680 is back in stock. My CPU will be an i5-2500k processor OCed to 4.5 GHz. I plan to play Runescape, BF3 and Skyrim. Thanks.
Now that the U2312HM is $290, I don't feel like buying one. I need a good monitor to run BF3 (NON-competitive) and Skyrim under $400 that has a good value. Anyone know of any? Anything 1080p or higher is good for me. I will be using the Radeon 7950 900MHz GPU and an i5-2500k processor. Thanks!

i5-2500k CPU: $195 (this includes tax)
Total: $1405 not including monitor or OS. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and the monitor has the remaining $395 of my $1800 budget.
What do you think guys?
I am going to be coming from the monitor and screen on the Gateway Profile 5 and the Toshiba Satellite P105-S6024, respectively, to a 1200p Dell UltraSharp U2412M. How much of a difference do you think I would see in gaming on a new computer I am building? It is i5 2500k & 7950 radeon on a...
Which is better for gaming: IPS or TN, and what size is best? If you say one or the other, please provide the monitor you think is best for me. I will be playing Runescape, Skyrim, and BF3 mainly. I can spend up to $270. I will be using an i5-2500k and a Radeon 7950.
Thanks.
