ZR24w with a DVD player?

If I hook up my Blu-ray or DVD player (that does 1080p upconversion) to the ZR24w, will it work? I mean, will it put black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, or will it stretch the image? Or will it just not work?

The screen runs native 1920x1200 so when you hook up a dvd player you will have small black bars on the top and bottom giving you 1080p via hdmi
