Assuming you are not returning it, there are 6 screws to get it out of the case once the back is off. It might be worth seeing if there is any component damage, but might also void a warranty if there is one.

this is a device that CANNOT claim opening is a warranty void, since their original condition requires opening to add a HDD and RAM.

Well, you can open the bottom but not take the screws out of the PCB which I did do. It has a warranty sticker on one. You access the RAM/HDD from the lid and don't need to move that stuff.
