Zotac GTX460 1GB -- $193.98 - $20MIR = $173.98

Shows $189.99 in the cart for me with a $20 rebate available, so its $169 AR.

Amazon is not "no tax" if you live in a state where it has a presence. There's a tax in NY, for instance.

FYI in Dirt 2 benches the 460 actually wins over the 5850 at times. But for many other games, the 5850 is marginally faster. 460 and the 6850 are about equal.

The 6850 would be considered faster than the 460. In a lot reviews, the 6850 is always better than the GTX 460 in high resolution.

Yah, but by only 1-2 fps in some reviews. GTX 460 is faster than the 5850 and 6870 at times at lower resolutions of 1680x1050 to 1920x1200. When were talking real world gameplay, the GTX460 is basically equivalent to the 6870.

In real world gameplay, you probably wont notice the difference or any high end /middle end card when there is a limited fps, unless your monitor can handle more.

I am unsure how you got info of GTX460 being equivalent to 6870. AMD did position the card to be against the GTX 460 1GB, but all reviews indicate that it is far better than the 460 and similar/close th the 470. The 6870 easily beats the GTX 460 at times so it is impossible to say that it is equivalent to the GTX 460 even at very low resolutions.

Primary reason why Nvidia dropped prices for the GTX 470 is to be competitive to its similar performance card, the 6870.

there are benchmarks which do show the 460 ahead of the 6870 at certain resolutions.

Please note that the exhaust style GTX 460 coolers are louder and hotter than the stock blower style.
Still a good card though :)

Techpowerup reviews them at all resolution. The 6870 lost only to a few resolutions such as 1024x768 and hardly any at 1280x1024. In the "real world gameplay" I dont think people would even play at such low level resolution.

Just because the 6870 lost to the GTX 460 in just a few very low level resolution, does not make it equal to the 460. It would be the same as saying the 6870 is far better than the GTX 470 because it beats it a few time in certain game at certain resolution.

I found it cheaper..... this site has the same thing for ~$4 cheaper and its a muuuuch better site.... with no taxes or shipping costs :D

Zotac 1GB GTX460 = $169.99 shipped

no taxes or shipping on this one either. So $4 cheaper, and far less money and hassle

While true for some..it's not on all. Free shipping only if you have prime (right? Or is it anyone that spends over $25?) You're taxed if you're in the state...Amazon.com LLC: KS, KY, ND, NY and WA (just like w/ Newegg...if you're in CA you get taxed).

Still...a GREAT find b/c it does save some money! Wish I had the cash to buy a new card right now but I'm really trying to hold out for a good BlackFriday deal.
