Dangit.... I got my Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 the Friday before for $560. That card is now listed at $540.

    It's a nice improvement over my Gigabyte GV-N980G1 GAMING-4GD.

New GPUS in a couple months I can't see buying now unless you just blew up a card.

Have a 980ti Amp Extreme, which I RMA'ed with no questions asked and ended up being on my side (I shouldn't admit that on [H]). Have had many Zotac throughout the years, I think I started with sli 460's, had a 580, and 660's- cards are rock solid and customer service is great.

and have no transfer of warranty. But that's not a hinderance for the foolish buyers ...

That 1080 Zotac price, if it holds and is not a one day incentive to get people buying should eventually drive 1070 prices lower on eBay. Too bad we can't tell if a card was used for mining 24/7/365, or not.

Pretty sure a GPU you buy today will play games significantly better than a GPU that you don't have.

Agreed, I never did understand that logic. A GTX 1080 is still a powerhouse video card and at $489 is still a worthy buy. It's not like it'll stop working after the 1100's come out....not to mention, the 1180 is more than likely going to be a whole lot more than $490.

Why? They've been good for me. One of the 980Ti's I bought used was crapped out when I got it (most likely the sellers fault) and I RMA'ed it and they sent me a GTX 1080 in return. Totally crap service and product...

Boohoo...I buy a card and it'll have warranty for me...what's it matter otherwise?

They ARE related! Jen Sen is her Unky! This guy does not include customer sentiment around NVs shady business practices leaning folks more toward AMD, just the CPU side being strong with more public issues at Intel...which tells me the public doesn’t know much about NDAs, GPPs and 1030s.

Got mine for $450. Love it, and expect to keep it in use for at least as long as the 6950/70 I purchased when those came out. So, see you in ~6-7 years, nVidia and AMD (and maybe Intel)!

I've had a Zotac 1080 for over a year, no problems.
Bought it on sale at MC for $450 at the time. :D

had nothing to do with mining or miners (I would know since I was the one who made the comment and I couldn't care less about mining really or GPU mining cards since I will only buy new these days) but apparently you saw fit to read into it somehow or other? Fascinating ...

That's why I said if you need one. Of course if you need a new card now it's a good deal. If you can wait a couple months then you can see what the new units will do. Keep in mind a 1170 will likely be on par or faster than a 1080 for the same or less money. That is just how it goes.

Well a wait and see approach is best. Prices on old stock never really spiked AFTER a new series came out. So it wouldn't kill you to wait and find out.

One thing that always seems to be true in this thing of ours is that no matter how long you wait, no matter how much you shop around or how much research you do, the INSTANT you buy something, something newer, faster, better and probably cheaper will come out.

I just go by the rule nowadays that you should just what you want or need when you want or need it. Obviously the mining craze was different but that was a fluke.

I bought the Zotac 1060 mini on release date.
This thing has been rock solid and boosts to almost 2ghz without an OC.

No complaints for me on Zotac cards.
