I may be forced to buy the memory I want from ZipZoomFly not NewEgg like I originally planned. Does anybody know how their shipping is and how their RMA's are? Any personal experiences?

I hope this is in the right forum. I couldnt find one that this should belong in.

Thanks in advance,
Randy

Have ordered from them several times - shipping is reasonable, usually . 01 or $1.00 on most items. Good order processing and tracking. Everything well packed and arrived safely.

Haven't had to RMA anything, so can't help you there.

Prices good, variety about half what new egg had, but over all a good company to deal with.

Peace,
Tim

they usually will have FREE 2day shipping on about 90% of their items....i order a lot from them....fast shipping....just as fast as newegg if not faster. Their prices are sometimes even better....i dont have any experience with their RMA service though....

i usually buy from either newegg or zzf

i know a few people that have built systems with parts from zipzoomfly and are very happy with their purchases

I bought most of my stuff from them (free shipping and it was usually cheaper than newegg's), everything went fine. They even got me the stuff one day early. I haven't had to RMA anything so don't know there.

From my experiences, they aren't much different from Newegg. You shouldn't have any problems.

built most of my sig from them, on average there the cheapest prices on the entire net. FAST FREE shipping on basically everything, nice customer service.

Thats why I hate the Newegg whores on this board. Newegg has great prices and customer service but I just hate how there cheerleaders practice on this site!

i have RMA'd a few times when they were googlegear. Best experience i have ever had returning anything. You don't need to speak with customer service to get an RMA number, and there are no questions asked on returns.

I use them instead of newegg now. newegg now charges tax for Tennessee residents :(

I've purchased from ZipZoomFly when their name was still Googlegear. I've never had a problem with them, as I've opted for their products when they were several dollars less expensive than Newegg. Excellent shipping, as previously stated. You shouldn't run into any conceivable problem with them.

ZipZoomFly's reputation is greater than my single experience with them. My "free 2nd day air" shipping took 9 days (including 7 business days) and the shipment was severely under-packed and damaged on arrival. Took another 4 days just to talk them out of an RMA number. My customer service rep was rude, condescending, and made assumptions like they were going out of style.

Now, in all fairness:
1. We DID have a big snow storm during my shipping period, but 9 days is still excessive.

2. I think my CSR was just having a bad week and/or it was "that time of the month" for her. The asian guy I finally talked to was an absolute pro and squared the situation away immediately.

All in all, I won't be shopping there again, but my experience seems more like the exception than the rule.

I.ve ordered from them several times, and RMAed them twice, all my transactions went off without a hitch.

I ordered a few parts from ZipZoomFly for my new system, but can't remember what without checking at home. I seem to remember having no problems. Um, maybe it was the CPU and Logitech mouse?

I really do go with the lowest price and highly rated sites when I order. I end up ordering from newegg a lot, but lately it's been spread out a bit more.

I've orderd from Zipzoomfly many times, and have been 100% satisfied each time. I've never had to RMA anything with them, but it seems as though they're top notch from the previous posters. Their prices are usually as good, if not better than Newegg, and free 2nd day shipping instead of free 3-4 day select really seals the deal.

Great company. I've done a good bit of business with them. I've only had one return, and they had the replacement part to me the next day.

Solid company. My experiences with them have been as good as NewEgg, which is the best compliment I can think of at the moment.

I've only ever bought a processor from them, but I have to say the service was good.

Thanks for the replys guys :)

Looks like I'm going to Idaho in a few days so the order is going to have to wait a week. Hopefully the prices will drop ;)

I will second these experiences. Just did this a week ago, no problem. Did charge a 15% restocking fee, just to be aware of that, which kinda pissed me off.

I like ZipZoomFly better than newegg because of their free 2nd day air. They have similar prices and service as newegg in my experience. I usually shop in this order ZipZoomFly > MWave> Newegg

But NewEgg does have a wider selection, and a better site overall. My favorite part about NewEgg is that they have pictures of pretty much everything there.

Having said that, my last few purchases were with ZipZoomFly, because NewEgg charges TN sales tax now.

Well I guess I am just another one with good reviews for this place. I shopped from them also when they were googlegear and service was excellent. I purchased a good bulk of parts for a new computer from them, and they all arrived quick and in good condition. I generally look at newegg and zipzoomfly for a product, and go with whichever is cheaper. If they are the same, I usually end up going with zipzoomfly, since they have free 2nd day air shipping instead of free fedex saver (little longer) with newegg. However, newegg by far has a greater variety. Many times I can't find a product on zipzoomfly, but on newegg I can.

Now I have a couple of questions. First, is there a list of states that now get charged tax from newegg? I have heard a few people in here talk about how they charge tax now for TN. I was just wondering if there was a comprehensive list somewhere.

Finally, to specter554, what is MWave, as I have never heard of that store. Also, what makes it soo good? I mean to put it ahead of newegg means that there must be something really great about it. Thanks.

I have a bad expierence with them. I had bought some crucial ram from them 256 stick of 2100 well it came and is was a single sided chip 8x8 instead of double sided and 8x 16 well the board I had at the time IT7 has issues with single sided chips which i was aware of but the site never mentioned that the chips were single sided if it had I would not have gotten it. Wel I called to try and Return this ram and they wanted to charge 15% restocking which is BS if they had listed it on their site that is was signle sided I would not have bgot it So it was their fault for not clearly list the product on thier site. I even talked to a supervisor who was an asshole over it, I sold it to a freind instead of taking the restocking fee. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN

Now last week my Cd burner took a crap and stopped burning discs. I got it from newegg on 5-28-03. So i figured I'd have to buy a new one. Just as an off thought i called newegg to see if it was still under warranty. I dind't think it was since it was OEM drive(lite-on 52x CD-RW). you now what they said sure no problem here is your RMA number if we dont have we'll credit you for the market value of the product. they got it from me on 3-5-04 and they sent out a replacemnt free of charge today. NOW THATS SERVICE. I will never buy from any other net company PERIOD.
I would suggest to you that you buy from newegg and if they have want you want get something they do have becasue if you have a problem you may get screwed by zipzomfly.

I bought my AIW 9700 Pro from them last June. Shipping was fast, and their RMA service is just as good as Newegg's, if not a little faster. I'm about to order a 200gig Seagate from them in an hour or so. To me, the only thing that Newegg has above Zipzoomfly is the name, and the site design.

Funny, i've had 2 experiences almost identical to yours. My RMA's at ZZF were always hassles. The products i was rma'ing were legitimate defects as well; bad HD, bad gigabit nic etc. The reps on the phone were a tad rude even with me being extremely nice, eventually i had to draw a line in the sand and practically demand an rma (no threats though).

On a positive note, they're always reachable by phone and i did get rma approval on the first call every time. Good luck getting that service from other pricewatch merchants. My ZZF rma's were also more than a year ago, so they could have done a 360 since that time.
