Well, here's my story:

I ordered a Corsair TwinX pc3200xl pro memory set. The memory itself worked flawlessly, but this is the pro series memory with the LEDs that light up to show the activity. One of the LEDs was burned out when I got the memory, so even though the ram itself worked fine, I decided to RMA it. I am paying an extra premium for those LEDs, so if one of them doesn't work, I consider it a defective product. Would you guys agree?

Anyway, after they received the ram, they had it for a week in the rma status of "processing" according to the web site, so I called them.

Dave at zipzoomfly told me that they tested the ram and it worked fine, so I could either have them send it back to me or accept a 15% restocking fee. I informed the fellow that I agreed with him that the ram did infact work fine, but that the reason I sent it back was because one of the LEDs was bad, not because the memory itself was bad. He informed me that a bad LED is borderline as to whether or not it is considered defective, so he said he would talk with the technicians and call me back by the end of the day to let me know their decision.

He called me back 5 MINUTES later and told me that the technician would replace the bad stick with a properly working stick, and that he would test them in a compatible machine before they sent them out to me. He said they would be sent out within 2 business days. This was 5 minutes ago.

So, if all goes well and I get the memory back in proper working condition, even with the bumpy road, I still consider this a thumbs up for zipzoomfly. There were apparently communications problems amongst their staff as to why I originally RMA-ed the product, but once I spoke to the right people everything got taken care of properly.

So wish me luck. Hopefully the ram comes back and works properly this time, if so, then I will be pleased to do business with zzf in the future.

I'll let you guys know what happens.

ever since back in the day when they were called googlegear, i never had a problem with them. good company and good people. good luck with your new ram, i doubt you will have any problem with the new stick.
