Zipzoomfly listing 5870

It looks like the 5850 will be 4x as hard to find as the 5870 in the first few weeks if the rumor that 5870 will be produced 4:1 vs 5850 is true.

Rumored release date. It is also rumored to be midnight tomorrow (EST). Seeing as there are no cards for sale and seemingly no reviews, I would bet on tomorrow.

well the rumor for US has been for 22nd but I guess we will see in three more hours.
 
I'm watching newegg like a hawk :D

I wonder if the 2Gb versions will be available at launch.

Shows 825 core clock, thought it was at least 850. Also 5850 at 625? Thought I saw 725 somewhere. Everything getting watered down, except the price!

they copy and pasted the 4850 and 4890 specs and threw them under the 5850/5870 specs..

well the 4890 was 850 so they have the 4890 specs wrong too then. lol. plus they did list the memory at 4200 which I believe is correct for the 5850 but strangely for the 5870 they list 5200 memory when ATI slides say 4800. bottom line their specs are just a complete mess.
 
They are just trying to make some good money having it up ASAP so everyone who feels the need to click "buy" on one right now and brag about it will see them as the first option.
 
The release date is the 23rd. If you look at the presentation slides for the 5 series it says the 23rd...so one more day...
 
I've heard 5870 900 stock and 5870x2 950 stock. I'd guess that the 5850 would be 850 stock.

I'm a little Iffy about the 825mhz core clock.


because on newegg theres a
Saphire 5870 for $20 cheaper and have faster 850mhz core clock.

Can someone confirm the HIS really have a 825mhz core clock.

because if that's the case I would cancel the Zipzoomfly order.
I don't want to pay $30 more for something that is slower.
And the HIS one doesn't come with Dirt 2 game download or a 3 year warranty (it comes with two year warranty)
 
all stock 5870 cards are 850 core 4800 mem. its just a misprint on zzf and if you look closer they dont really have any specs correct about it. I mean it even says 800 sp. lol
 
I hope they had enough orders for the XFX one. I see other forums that people bought the XFX ones too.

I had to get two of them

thanks but I manage to snag the asus one from Newegg for $380 and pay the extra $15.56 for 2nd shipping.

still comes out to be about $10 cheaper. and I get the extra year warranty and the Dirt 2 download.

Hopefully I get it by friday so I can make love to it all weekend with my triple 24" monitor setup
 
I love this quote from the anandtech tech review..

Let’s be clear here: the 5870 is the single fastest single-GPU card we have tested, by a wide margin. Looking at its performance in today’s games, as a $379 card it makes the GTX 285 at its current prices ($300+) completely irrelevant
