Hey Guys,

I received my 3500 retail winnie proc today but the item i ordered doesn't match the serial on the chip.

Mine was the ADA3500BIBOX but the chip has ADA3500DIK4BI. Is this correct or are they trying to pull a fast one on me by shipping me the oem with a retail hsf?

Thanks, I'll be sure to give them hell if they tried to pull a fast one.

retail is an oem cpu, a heatsink, and a warranty. you didn't get shortchanged out of anything.
the first opn with the "bibox" on the end is just the describing term to differentiate the various retail boxes apart; yours is a winchester retail..
the cpu istelf has more detailed info so you really know what it is.

Thanks for the info, that's a relief. I read that the date manufactured can dictate the oc'ing ability of the chip. I also heard that the retail version oc's better than oem version. If this is true will mine be sufficient?

It states cbbid 0451apaw.

Afaik the APAW chips were a mixed bag, but your milage may very.

That is a very very new chip though, so maybe you might get something special :D

I'll definitely let you guys know how they oc once I get the final two pieces to my build, the MSI sli and some memory.

week 44 seems to produce some of the best if i recall right. 51 is still pretty good, but i think amd might of been trying to put out more chips at the end of the year, thus slightly reducing the quality of them.

and about the msi sli.. where did you order one of them? i wasn't aware of them being in stock yet. i guess i haven't been looking hard enough ;)
