Zfs system disk failure question

This question just popped into my head and I ran a search but didn't find anything.

What happens if the system disk fails....not the raid. Since the system disk is where all the OS stuff is that controls the raidz setup.....if it fails do you lose the system and storage information?
 
Yeah, even NFS and CIFS "config" is stored with the pool right? They are just properties of the filesystem.

The authentication mechanisms for CIFS should be stored with the root pool (domain/local auth).... also Comstar config would be stored there too (obviously the LUN still exists).
 
If the main pool is lost, you have to reconfigure the groups and users that have the corresponding rights to access the folders/files in the storage pool to make the shares working, however shares definitions are kept.
