ZFS Encryption Sustained Write Speeds

Has anyone been able to manage any sort of decent speeds sustained write to an encrypted ZFS target over a network (I'm talking Solaris/Solaris Express for encryption, not BSD + GELI)? I can easily saturate a 1GBPS link with a file transfer to an unencrypted device, but once I turn on encryption, even my quad core Xeon can't push much over 50-60MB/sec. Has anyone seen any significantly higher speeds with a different configuration/platform?
 
I think the latest news was that even the new aes-ni was *not* properly utilized by Solaris.
So yes, speed of encrypted zfs sucks.
 
Yeah, I was part of that discussion last year. Was hoping there was progress. Found a few posts by the ZFS-Crypto author himself and he said it "works for him", but of course, no support from Oracle unless you fork out a bunch of cash.

Would still like to hear from anyone if they've gotten significantly better performance (maybe not AES-NI) - anyone try it on something with more than 4 cores? I might swap this thing out for some sort of 8-12 core Opteron solution at some point, but only if it made a significant (roughly double) performance gain.
