Hi all, I am busy working on my first time build so forgive me if the question I ask is a little stupid.

I have a zerotherm nirvana on an asus p5k board, but the asus board has a 4 pin cpu fan connection while the zerotherm nirvana is only a 3 fan pin connection.

Would I be fine plugging it into one of the other case fan connections, and would it still operate at full speed?

It also came with a fan controller, so I wanted to know if I need to open the case every time I needed to use it?

First of all, excellent choice on the Nirvana. Very underrarted heatsink that's reviewed to be one of the best...anyway,

The 4pin is for a PWM fan. Plug in your 3pin as such: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/img/4pin.jpg

You can plug in the other fans and (ideally) control them through Asus's software or the BIOS, whichever you prefer.

Depends on the type of fan controller, is it meant to be mounted externally? Doesn't sound like a typical Asus accessory..
