It would seem that Zango isn’t too happy with their service being flagged by anti-spam programs and has filed a lawsuit against PC Tools, the makers of the anti-spyware software flagging them, to make them stop.

Representatives from both Zango and PC Tools confirmed that Zango had filed suit against the antispyware vendor. However they declined to provide details on the lawsuit except to say that it involved a dispute over the way Spyware Doctor rated Zango's software.

Yeah, I've never heard of Zango. Sounds like something I'd flag as spam as well.

What's Zango?

They use to be called 180solutions.

All they are trying to do is scare pctools into removing them from the list. I hope PC tools stands up to them. A lot of my clients use their software.

Er, flag as spyware, I meant. Steve, which is it? You say "spam" in the summary text, but the article is about spyware....

According to a post on a blog at Spamnotes.com, Zango is seeking at least $35 million in damages, alleging that Spyware Doctor removes Zango's software without warning users that it will be deleted. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in King County Superior Court in Seattle, according to Spamnotes.com.

I find it funny that they were accused of installing their unwanted software without warning. Then they have the nerve to complain about an antispyware/antimalware program removing their unwanted software w/o warning (which has been proven that Spyware Docoter did notify users).

No way in hell is Zango going to win.

ugh 180solutions was the most annoying piece of spyware ever. I hope they are counter-sued into oblivion

I hope they lose and PC Tools counter sues them. I use Spyware Docotr and I absoltely hate Spyware/Malware of all types. I feel most adware suites should be illegal and the fine should be a hell of alot more than $3million.
