Has anyone tried using the zalman vf700-cu in a SN41G2?? just curious whether it would fit on my 9800pro in a shuttle?

Assuming that's one with the AGP slot on the end - there's no way. I can tell it's taller than the new Silencer just by looking at it. Bust out a ruler and see if you have 30mm of clearance. ...or just see if you can stick a normal fan between your card and the side with a bit more to spare.

Nice cooler though, I was looking at it yesterday. I would just miss the exhaust feature of the Silencers too much.

roger that - are you saying that the VGA silencer does fit?

edit - well obviously not - pardon my sillyness

ack. that would likely prevent me from using the PCI slot for the TV tuner.

One day I will build a new, full-ATX HTPC and it shall be truly silent, until then I think I must survive with clatter.

Zalman HS's are easily cut and bent to fit. I know this from experience (the loss in cooling is minimal to none even with almost half the cooler chopped off). ;)
