Sorry mods if this is the wrong section, not entirely sure where it should now.

Anyhow, i bought a zalman cnps14x early this year for an unbelievable good deal, $10 USD after rebates and savings. the rebate came without issues and i think it was within 8 weeks. however, when i did get around to installing the heatsink, roughly about 1 month after i bought it, the center stock fan started ticking like crazy and didnt really spin that much. an email to zalman and i got a reply and replacement within 5 business days (im located in southern california) free of charge.

fast forward today, 7 months later, i called zalman and told him the fan was dying again. the rep troubleshooted with me and was polite and patient. after confirming fan was dying again, he offered to send me another replacement plus an additional fan to back up the center fan, again free of charge.

im really pleasantly surprised their customer service. The company is in a somewhat financially bad position and generally not considered a top tier company, I was expecting a "FU, too bad, deal with it" response.

Props to Zalman and ill be sure to consider their products again.

Summary: Zalman has excellent customer service.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind if I have to order a heat sink or other stuff that is related.

Always good to know of the companies that take care of their customers after the sale. I've only owned a few Zalman products and I've never had an issue with any of them. I think their money issues is because their products just aren't up to par with other products in the same price range.

I had the Zalman CNPS7700-CU back in my Athlon 64 days.... Great heat-sink, looked quite baller in its day, never had an single issue....

But, it's hard to argue with something like the Hyper 212 that so easily allows you to replace the fan etc.

I think you can get a hyper 212 for half the price of a Zalman. So definitely a tough choice. But good to know if something goes down, Zalman does stand behind their products.
