Zalman cnps9700 fan plug question

I hooked up the fan and the power connector is a 3 pin connector.
The standard CPU fan connector on most mobos is a 4 pin.
Is this correct?
If you have one, how did you hook yours up.
I guess i can hook it up to another fan connector, but i wanted to use the cpu.

I should fit the 4 pin connection and will work with that connection. The fourth pin is for PWM monitoring through the BIOS so that the BIOS can monitor temp levels and adjust the fan accordingly.

You should still plug the Zalman into that 4 pin header. Thats what I did.

that why i got a 9500AT
