zalman back plate HELP!!!

i cant seem to get the cardboard off the back of the backplate that came w/ the 7000a-alcu i just got. do i need to heat it like i did to get the stock backplate off my k8n neo pat?
I NEED HELP!


*edit* i just realised that the cardboard might not be ment to take off, and that the zalman backplate does not need adheasive. if true, than me=dumb
 
Why would you take it off? So it can conduct and short circuit? S-M-R-T.
 
I would not say dumb. But you are right in thinking you did not need to remove the card board. It would be nicer if they used rubber or some more durable material though especially with an expensive and heavy duty heatsink like the Zalman
 
I have a Thermalright HSF, and the backplate is separated from the board with a thin sheet of transparent plastic. It's job is to be a resistor, not a cushion. Which cardboard would also do nicely.
 
I took the cardboard off an replaced it with the plastic from the motherboards stock backplate
 
my stock plate cam w/ and adhesive backing, so i thought the zalman had it to... ah well, i installed it(just the backplate/niples) w/ the cardboard. now i need to wait untill everything else shows up before i set everything up
 
It should cushion and resist because their is a ton of pressure placed on the board and heatsink and it is focused around the socket. So because my backplate touches the motherboard tray I feel more comfortable with the plastic keeping any pressure from damaging the socket or putting stress on the pcb surrounding the socket
 
I have been getting temps between 37C and 45C with a 3000+ at 2.4ghz. Stock it runs 35C to 40C and even lower with cool and quiet enabled. This is all in an AC'ed room that stay constantly below about 75F
 
ok. and does anyone know if Qn'Q is at all efective w/ folding running? b/c w/ folding running i seem to get lower temps(on my a-xp-2200+ rig) than w/ somthing like a game or prime running
